I think my main problem is why would Jimmy force/want to here with no KD?? I would think the appeal was for him to spend the last years of his career with Book AND KD. Take less money with KD so it’s easier to build around them going forward. This what they all have literally been planning for and now that was all for nothing? What’s the point of coming to Phoenix now? If it was just for money, the warriors were more than happy to extend until he nuked that. He caused all this drama to only play with book? I don’t buy it.

It just doesn’t make any sense. If all this is just dead end now, just go to Memphis, that’s the way better situation. Go to the bucks. Until the shams tweet comes in, I’m still on the Himmy with KD and Book train.
I don't think the Warriors committed to his max extension. At least I've not see that report.

Sure seems like the Nurk/JV swap is happening. Curious about who wants him if the reporting is correct that the Suns don't.

Are we trading Nurk for Valanciunas? Seeing a lot of discussion about it.
I've wanted this since early November.
I've wanted him too but once we acquired Richards my interest decreased. Obviously we still need another capable big man, but my priority would be towards the stretch big type. There's also the question of price. If 'a pick' means a 1stR, I'm out. But in any case, my focus would be trading Durant and Beal.

He’s wasn’t planning to sign a max here either tho. I think the number Gambo said on the radio was 3/110, if I remember correctly. KD’s homie Eddie Gonzales said straight up the plan was for KD and Jimmy to sign team friendly deals in the summer that would help the Suns get under the second apron. Split explained the math really well a few weeks back.
These dudes clearly been cooking this up for a minute.

So now all this drama with suspensions, fines, causing toxicity in locker room and with staff was just so he could play with JUST BOOK? I don’t buy it.

I don't get why anybody does that deal other than GSW. Who does Miami get? If we do a KD -> Butler trade we better get an ass load of picks because that team will be very mediocre.

You're right that it's not his absolute maximum if he were to opt out, but that's unlikely to be the right play for him financially. No one is giving him the most possible and he knows it. He's not LeBron.

What I meant was the Suns would be willing to give him the 2 year extension maximum. I haven't seen that reported about the Warriors.

Y’all are forgetting the Ishbia/Draymond Green/Michigan State connection.

I'd be happy with this. I simply hate how Durant plays. This way, we get our future back.

Basically, Kuminga, Green, everything of future value, and facilitation of Butler to Phoenix for Durant. Whether this is worthwhile depends on "everything of future value". The article cites that the Suns have asked for an exorbitant price in future assets.

Good to see that we aren’t run by Nico.

Moving KD and replacing him with Butler doesn't make sense. I don't think there are legs to that stuff. I do think the Ws are hot for KD and may be working to find more assets to send to Phoenix because they don't have what Phoenix wants. I could also see Phoenix playing up KD to GS rumors to try and get Houston to come to the table on a trade.

I'm also conflicted because as much as I want to cash in on KD for young players and picks, I'd be pissed if we got caught in a shitty deal while he goes back to GS. It'd feel like he's jumping ship because it hasn't worked out after we gave up so much for him (same as what happened in BK).

I get that sentiment, Shel, but at this point I don’t care about which team I help long as this team plays with a pulse again (unless it’s the Lakers. Fuck the Lakers).

Don't fall for the falacy of sunken cost. If it's not working, and can't be saved, you need to move on. Get the most you can and start the next project.

I'm with it and have been advocating trading KD but a package revolving around Wiggins and Kuminga ain't it.

If you move Durant you HAVE TO do better than just Butler for him. And since there's only about $1.3 million difference in salaries and no guarantee Butler would stay here longterm, the Warriors/Heat would have to send a shitload of draft choices our way.

I hear you. Sending Beal out would be viable if the trade gets expanded.

MIA takes shorter deals from MIL (Middleton+).

DET helps get MIL under the second apron to allow them aggregate, and gets compensated.

GSW pay for Durant, using Wiggins+Kuminga (DET can have him), picks and filler (SloMo, GPII).

Assemble this in two separated trades and it works, leaving us with Butler, Wiggins, picks and filler, plus also removing Beal.

Any chance Middleton gets bought out or waived?

So I think my rough sorting of possibilities right now, from most preferred to least preferred, is:

* Trade KD to HOU for youngs and lots of our own picks back.

* Trade KD to OKC for Chet and a couple of picks.

* Trade KD to GSW for Kuminga, Wiggins/Draymond, and LOTS of picks.

* Trade Beal in some kind of deal that doesn't give up all 3 of our 1sts and gets us Jimmy Butler.

* Trade KD in a multi-team trade that gets us Jimmy but also a bunch of picks. (BIG NO to this unless we also get mucho picks)

... (giant chasm) ...

* Trade our 1sts for "win-now", "all-in" pursuit of more players to improve the current team.

* stand pat.

I didn't list any Booker trade options above because I don't want that and don't think the team would do that, especially with him just passing the scoring record.

Lots of nothing burgers....nothing is happening this season...Beal doesn't want to move, bend over.

Jimmy makes zero sense if KD is traded...not happening.

Maybe sign JB to a min and at the end max out for a year for repayment.

This year is toast...the mix improved and you would have better assets next year. Focus on also improving the bench, Beal coming off the bench...
