That trade represents such a deep decline for Middleton. He's only 33 years old, and he was an absolutely essential part of their recent success and title run. And Kuzma is having a horrible season with really bad shooting (42/28/60!). And the Bucks had to throw in a pick swap to get the deal done! Middleton has gone from a 2nd-3rd best player on a title team to an albatross contract that you have to attach picks and players to get off of. Pretty striking. And now he's going to a team that has not prospects and no future, basically there as ballast. How the mighty have fallen.

Unless KD is asking for GSW, that would be stupid, warriors are worst than us. Dafuq. They’d gut their team to make the contracts work for KD lol good luck with that I guess.

So I think my rough sorting of possibilities right now, from most preferred to least preferred, is:

* Trade KD to HOU for youngs and lots of our own picks back.

* Trade KD to OKC for Chet and a couple of picks.

* Trade KD to GSW for Kuminga, Wiggins/Draymond, and LOTS of picks.

* Trade Beal in some kind of deal that doesn't give up all 3 of our 1sts and gets us Jimmy Butler.

* Trade KD in a multi-team trade that gets us Jimmy but also a bunch of picks. (BIG NO to this unless we also get mucho picks)

... (giant chasm) ...

* Trade our 1sts for "win-now", "all-in" pursuit of more players to improve the current team.

* stand pat.

I didn't list any Booker trade options above because I don't want that and don't think the team would do that, especially with him just passing the scoring record.
I think the suns would definitely do those top two…Houston and OKC won’t though, so they aren’t possibilities.

I’d guess the suns list is pretty close to yours…except the KD to GS for Wiggins/Kuminga picks drops below the one we get Jimmy

If we’re so dead set on trading KD…send him to the Spurs. Keldon Johnson, Barnes, Chris Paul works financial. Just add all those Atlanta hawk picks.

And Bucks fans are livid about the trade. I just pray we’re not the next team to loathe a trade our team makes within the next 27 hours or so. This KD for Butler talk is awful.

We better not Amare/Barkley this shit where we let a franchise player go and get back role players with no assets or potential franchise cornerstones.

We need either:

1) max assets to rather draft or flip for a star this offseason

OR

2) a young prospect who is on the path to stardom (Jonathan Kuminga, put your hand down you ain't it)

1-2 first round picks alone ain't cutting it. And a package of Draymond Green and Bobby Portis is Hedo Turkoglu and Hakim Warrick all over again.

I can’t understand why the wizards do that trade and get so little back.

Checked this on Spotrac

Would Houston really say no to this deal?

VanVleet
Reed
‘25 suns 1st
‘27 suns 1st

For KD and Tyus.

Then tank for this year and regroup for next year.

You can see if you can reroute VanVleet but he has a team option for next year. Just let him expire. Have cap space for next year or get out of the aprons completely.

Edit: you also have picks with maximum flexibility to still go after a star if you want. Just a 1 year reset essentially.

I've got very little confidence in this FO to pull off a trade that doesn't piss the fans off. They clearly had no exit plan when they traded for Beal and his NTC and are now having to part with Ishbias prized asset because they have no other alternative. Just bad planning all round.

If Ishbia is forced to trade a superstar he'll want one in return regardless of fit. It wouldn't surprise me at all if it was a swap for Butler.

ESPN needs a JV news breaker to break all these dumb deals so we don’t waste our time getting the Shams notification haha

Please let it be true. I’d prefer not to wait until the very last minute on Thursday.
Ishbia always makes his Durant trades late Wednesday night before the trade deadline. :P

KD is better than Fox. I need something more interesting. I’m not a Keldon Johnson fan
