LeBron didn't tell anybody because he didn't want his all-star streak broken. Lame.
LeBron only cares about LeBron, it's always been that way.

My thing tho that crossed my mind is has the injured players process changed.
Bron and Ant casually saying on the day they not playing is how it was always done ??
It's BS, if they had bowed out properly then Book likely could have played. But they wanted to take up the spot while not playing.

Mark my words, we haven't seen the end of this trend. More and more players are going to do this, where they don't bow out of their All-Star spot but they also don't play.

You don’t lose your All-Star status due to being injured, it just allows a replacement to also be an All-Star.

He had a streak of All-Star games played in, and that was broken. This was the first he missed to injury. I don’t blame him for trying to keep the streak alive if he thought he had a real chance.

Why would you think they do this? How could keeping another player out of the all star game help LeBron?

Because everything is about us. If it kept Book out of the All-Star game, that’s why he did it. How could anyone be motivated by anything other than how their choices affect us?

I just meant that if he thought he likely couldn't play, he should have bowed out earlier to give someone else a spot.

If he thought he had a decent chance to play, and wanted to play, he had every right to try to play. He doesn't owe anyone else a spot, unless maybe the next guy on the list is a teammate or close friend.

Book wasn't making it even if those two sat. You're not the 11th seed and getting two all stars. Book didn't deserve it. If you were dying to see Norm Powell play then sure complain away

Awful this year.
Dunk contest, well two of the participants who could actually dunk as a small highlight but the bar overall was set so low over the whole weekend.

I don't know why they let guys like Mac McClung compete in the Dunk Contest when he doesn't actually have a full roster spot or ever play for the Magic. He basically isn't an NBA player. Why not just let people off the street compete in the Dunk Contest then?

They let him compete because the nba players won’t do it and they need someone to entertain the fans.

He's played in NBA games, I don't see the problem. He's also an incredible dunker.
