You don’t need Hooters, Book. Zipps has great chicken wings and beautiful bartenders clad in form fitting t shirts and yoga pants. Drop by some time. Preferably during the off season.
“Are you crazy?! You think I’m going to go for seven years and try to get there? You enjoy the 2030 draft picks that we have holding? I want to try to see the game today.” — Ish 3/13/25
I used to think it was fun to go to Hooters, like, 25 years ago with some of my guy friends. But I wouldn't be caught dead there now, too embarrassing. The food isn't good and there are better places to go if you want to leer at girls.
There's a similar type of establishment called "Twin Peaks" that also features bosomy women as the waitresses. My retired parents accidentally went there recently, not knowing what kind of place it was. Fun times.

What did they expect? Laura Palmer? Maybe the log lady?
Hooters suposedly has good wings, but they're terrible and bready.
When I worked at MetroCenter we went to Hooters for lunch one day after they moved into the old Olive Garden by the mall, and it was terrible. Run down, bad food, and well, the waitresses weren't much to look at either.
Hooters was an okay place to go to 30-35 years ago when they were a fairly new experience and I was the right age to go somewhere like that, but the allure has faded.

Gambo said on KOC’s pod that before Mat Ishbia the Suns were willing to trade EITHER Cam and Mikal for KD or all the picks, but not both. Then Mat took over and immediately traded all of it.
I thought that was pretty obvious. James Jones had been working the deal for months and then Mat Ishbia took over and BOOM, the deal was done and we gave away everything.
No one has ever said what the offer was though. Interesting how far off James Jones was from Sean Marks. I wonder what would have happened if we waited until the summer.

I only wish we could go back in time. Sigh. Bygones.
Jones was definitely playing the waiting game. In those kinds of negotiations, it's a game of chicken. Jones was holding firm and was probably prepared to play out the rest of the season and just add buyout guys. I think he was offering one of Mikal and Cam plus DA who the Nets didn't want. That was going back to the summer prior when KD initially asked out. IIRC, the Cam extension was looming and he was in line to get more than Mikal's $90m so that was on everyone's minds. But I do think we would've gotten a better deal done in the summer if KD had held firm on his trade request.
