Ishbia deserves criticism. But at least be fair about it. I wouldn't have made all the moves he's made. However, I appreciate his willingness to gamble. Being willing to fail is the best path to success.

All I know is we had a Finals team while Sarver was here and Ishbia dismantled it!

The thing with some/most of these billionaire owners is that just because they were successful in one field, they think it applies to their sports ownership. They're smart and made their fortunes in real estate or tech, so obviously they'll have the same success as a team owner. A lot of them learn the hard way.

Ishbia reminds me of Mark Cuban when he first bought the Mavs. Was spending like a maniac, improving facilities, trying to really put his stamp on the team. Cuban eventually learned to back off, and I think Ishbia will learn to do the same thing. Hopefully this season humbled him.

IMO a lot of the national hoops pundits and podcasts have the right of it. Lately they have been talking about the Suns, and most of them say we suck and we're done, and that it is primarily due to "new owner syndrome" from Ishbia coming in and pushing the FO to make all these moves. That isn't the only factor, but it's the main one. Do I want Bobby effing Saver back? Hell no. But Ishbia's process of learning how to be a competent NBA owner has set us back and put us on track to have many, many bad years if we don't execute a nearly flawless rebuilding process.

My only current solace is that we are so clearly shitty right now that there's no way Ishbia can be thinking we are fine, that we just need a few offseason tweaks, etc. I think everybody is seeing that we're done and it's time to make major changes and rebuild.

It wasn’t a burner account, it was his wife, and he apparently knew nothing about it. It doesn’t reflect well on her, but it’s not really his fault, unless you blame him for confiding in his wife who didn’t respect that confidence.

I went back and read the thread not too long ago…almost everyone was excited about KD…obviously everyone was sad to see Mikal go, but most people seemed fairly on board. A few thought we gave up too much. Only a couple thought it was a bad trade at the time.

The board was pretty measured in that thread I thought. And there's a post that mentions Woj saying JJ was sticking to the offer from the summer and then Ishbia came on and pushed all the chips onto the table.

Similar to Dolan taking over the Melo negotiations and giving Denver everything they wanted while Donnie Walsh was holding firm.
