Well we definitely aren’t getting the same value for KD that we gave up. We never were.

I’m conflicted on what we are going to get for KD. I was thinking it would be low, but then I saw what the GS offer was and it was still kinda good. The one thing we have going for us is teams have to get close on salary and most of the teams interested will have to move good players to match salary.

Just want some long defenders and picks and a young player. 1 less mouth to feed on offense while Booker and Beal figure it out.
Love, Hurts.

Yea I want bigger, longer athletes. We don't need anymore 6-6 swings.

Even if we get some of those players back, we still need a true PG and floor general. I don't know if that's thru the draft or FA but we need someone who can lead a team.

What are you guys looking for when you say we still need a true pg? I agree we need a leader, but it doesn’t have to be a pg. I really don’t think you can add a pg to the Book/Beal combo unless they are a jumbo pg, like young Ben Simmons.

Booker is a good pg. None of the top teams in the league have true PG’s on their roster except maybe Cleveland with Garland?

Jimmy, Kuminga, 2 1sts, 2 2nds and dumping Nurk? Ya that would’ve been amazing.

Yeah I don’t know why so many people thought the GS offer was junk.

But part of the problem now is that KD is literally 12 months older than he was last month.

I would gladly take that from Houston. Then I’d move Jalen Green elsewhere
Part of me wants to just trade KD for VanVleet and let the salary come off the books.

You’d have to guarantee the salary to make the trade. We would’ve needed to make that trade before the deadline if we wanted the salary off this summer.

Are you sure? Even if it’s before the team option deadline? Either way, at least the money comes off within a year.

We’re really going to do the same thing every year, expecting different results? Fire the coach, try a new one with Booker?

If so, better let Booker choose the coach this time.

Ya I remember because it came up when we were discussing trading CP3…I believe it’s a fairly new rule, but any salary you are using to match salary coming back in a trade needs to be guaranteed. If for instance Houston could make the trade without sending salary back, they could trade us FVV without picking up the option…but because they need his salary to bring in KD, the option has to be picked up first.

3 straight years with players quitting on the coach…absolutely can’t have a 3rd one, so they need to make a players coach hire.

You all mentioned Houston, Dallas and OKC as possible trade partners for Durant. What about San Antonio? Durant would be a great fit on that team with Wemby and Fox. It could put them over the top. However I do not know what players they have that we would want or what draft resources they have available.

I just looked and we might be able to pry CP3 and Biyombo from them lol!

I’d jump at a spurs trade if we could get Castle. I love the idea of a Castle-Booker backcourt.

I disagree. Both Jimmy and Kuminga need to get paid. I know there was talk of Jimmy taking less but I believe that was with idea if he was teaming up with KD and Book, I don’t think he accepts a discount with just one of those guys instead. He probably takes a deal similar to GS gave him, combine that with what Kuminga would making next year. We are once again in the same position of being a second apron but actually a worst team than this current team. Also when the talk of dumping/swapping Nurk to Washington for valanciunas first came up, Gambo said we’d be giving up asset to do so, and there was no indication that still wouldn’t be the case still in the KD trade, so those 2nds from GS or one of our late 1st would still be going out to dump Nurk.

I’d still prefer potential trades with Houston, OKC, Dallas, SAS, or Minny than the GSW deal at the deadline tbh.

Yea I didn't love the GS trade that was rumored.

On a different note, had we gotten Butler, would things have improved to where we'd be on the rise in the standings?

Then again, i really think KD goes to the lakers unless the lakers make it to the finals or win the chip. I know everyone hates that but just what I think happens. These fucks we’re gifted Luka, the basketball universe is cruel and unfair. It is what it is.

I think if we paired Jimmy with KD and Book, getting the 6th spot and making noise in the playoffs would be a real possibility.

If we just do the GSW deal, then we might be .500 still or close to it, probably fighting for 7-10 spot only because the vibes would probably be better instead being completely embarrassing right now.

I thought Beal to the Lakers would be a possiblity but that looks like it's gone out the window - not that it ever had a real chance.
