I bet we could win one game. It’s at least possible. Then we would have a more successful season than last year, and Ishbia will be convinced we are improving and make no changes. He also knew he was a first time owner with very little experience. He was dumb to overrule his bball ops people, and not let them make the decisions.Superbone wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 1:43 pmDude, you know he's a first time owner with very little experience. Well, we don't know the details for sure. I don't think he alone made all those decisions. Especially Paul for Beal and the team make up via free agency and trades. I give him the most blame for way overpaying for KD but we knew Jones had been working on it for months before Ishbia bought the team. I'm pretty sure the ops people wanted KD, Beal, and the free agents and trades we made. Probably the Bud hiring too.JeremyG wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 1:48 pmHe also knew he was a first time owner with very little experience. I think there is the assumption that we know more than we really do. We don't really know how much of the decision making process was Ishbia, we just know that, like any other NBA owner he's going to be part of it for decisions that big.Superbone wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 2:00 pmWell, we don't know the details for sure. Ultimately, if you're the one responsible like Jones is, you have to make your feelings known if your owner is overruling one of your decisions. Which may have happened here, we don't know for certain.
I think in hingsight the Durant deal will be (or is already) seen as giving up too much to make an immediate splash, and that the Beal trade just shouldn't have been done at all.

Yes, to all of that. I know I thought it was too much at the time. Regarding Beal, I think most of us liked it but we didn't think through the redundancy and NTC. That's the FO's job.The Bobster wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 10:42 amI think there is the assumption that we know more than we really do. Need to win the next 4 I think if we want to stay alive…. Home games against Sacramento, Toronto, and Chicago, plus a road game against the Lakers without Lebron.
Re: 2025 Play-In Watch(8 wins to go? Honestly 6 might do it)
We’re just 1.5 games out of 10th(3 games ahead of Portland in 12th). Dallas is completely decimated at this point and probably has 5 wins max left in them, which would put them at 38-44. We own the tie breaker, so getting to 38 wins should be enough. That means we need to go 7-8 to finish the season. The next 3 are very winnable, so if we get those 3…4-8 to finish the season should do it.

If I had to guess, I think the Suns limp in and so some damage.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 10:49 amWe’re just 1.5 games out of 10th(3 games ahead of Portland in 12th). How about winning two play in games and getting routed in the first round?
Winning two play in games, getting routed in the first round, and injuring somebody on OKC?

Two play in wins and having a lead at any point in the 2nd half of the first round series with OKC is a win…Cap wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 5:36 pmIs winning the first play in game doing some damage?virtual9mm wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 5:13 pmIf I had to guess, I think the Suns limp in and so some damage.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 10:49 amWe’re just 1.5 games out of 10th(3 games ahead of Portland in 12th). Honestly one win in the play in is a win at this point

OK, but Doncic is playing, right? Still don't think it's very winnable. Unless we get more of what we got the other day but I really don't trust Bud to stick with it. Richards is coming back and I'll be surprised if Oso gets over 10 minutes.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 8:36 pmNo LeBronSuperbone wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 8:31 pmWhat?! Not sure about Luka…he didn’t play Friday, but I don’t think he’s really hurt. Might’ve been a b2b or something. It’s the toughest of the 4 games, but still a game we really need to be winning if we want to make the play in.
