I didn't know either until I hopped on X and saw them roasting Bradley Beal. I figured he must have got hurt again. Nope. 1 point, 30 minutes. GTFO.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

They benched Gillespie for this. That's hilariousAmareIsGod wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 9:24 pmI didn't know either until I hopped on X and saw them roasting Bradley Beal. I figured he must have got hurt again. Nope. 1 point, 30 minutes. GTFO.
Love, Hurts.

Gillespie came off the bench and had a much better game than our superstar.TOO wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 12:59 amThey benched Gillespie for this. I don't want to pile on Beal because we know he doesn't work here and he was coming back from injury but it really might be best to shut him down. No point in him being out there, risking further injury, hurting his status. Teams know who and what he is. KD is likely done for the year too. Keep playing Book but pull back on his minutes a bit. Now is the time to ride CG, Dunn and Oso and really evaluate them around Book. Let them keep getting reps, work in live game situations and gain some momentum heading into their offseason programs. Maybe even bring Jalen Bridges into the mix.

Not too much to say about a game like this. We were outclassed basically from wire to wire and it never seemed close. The Celtics are a mature and efficient team that is likely to go very far in the playoffs, and we are ... not that. Book had a nice game with 37 / 6 / 5, and Oso had 12 and 7. Tyus Jones continues to look like a pretty decent bench PG (if only we had played him that way from the start). Dunn was quiet tonight with 5 points on 2-8 shooting. Cody Martin had a quiet 4 points and 5 boards; I feel like his star has faded a bit in the past few games as other teams are figuring him out. And then there was the 1-point Beal stinker; agree with the others saying he probably just shouldn't be playing if he's still injured. The general vibe seems to be that guys know the season is over and are going through the motions.
Not much to say about the Celtics. Tatum and Brown are a strong duo (23 and 31 points), but they have so many other guys who contribute. Porzingis is still a matchup problem and surprises me with his versatility. White is more capable than he seems. They have several competent bench guys like Pritchard, Horford, Hauser, and Kornet. They just broke the regular-season team 3-point shooting record. We should do a playoff prediction thread when the regular season is over, but I think the Celtics are going back to the Finals. Well-constructed team.

Even if he's still injured, an injured star player making 50 million should be able to score more than 1 point in 30 minutes on the court unless he's literally hobbling and hopping on one leg the entire game.

Just think, though. If the game had gone to triple overtime, he might have been able to score 2 points!
