Are The Suns Cursed? Book it!
Re: Are The Suns Cursed? Book it!
Well your problem is expecting people to agree with you then. Grind your axe all you want I guess
Re: Are The Suns Cursed? Book it!
I agree with him. As far as the present and recent past anyway. Booker was not always a problem, but he definitely is now.
He became too arrogant, too unbothered, and started declining instead of progressing as a superstar. In fact, the start of the entire downward trajectory of Booker and the team could perhaps almost be pinned down to a single moment: May 10, 2022—during the latter part of game 5 of the second round series against Dallas, when Booker and the rest of the team were arrogantly clowning Luka and the Mavs as we went up 3-2. Remember “the Luka special”? It’s all been downhill ever since.

Booker in the following playoffs:
34 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block per game.
Shot 59/51/87…a 69% TS…but ya he started his trajectory downward before that.

He's just an easy target because we know KD is on the way out.
Love, Hurts.

Re: Are The Suns Cursed? Book it!
yes, Luka got inside Book's head and the whole team had a meltdown of chemistry and motivation. Particularly odd since Monty was a player's coach. But, here we are again. Another mysterious chemistry and motivation issue despite replacing 2 coaches and every other player but 1.JeremyG wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 8:14 pmI agree with him. Re: Are The Suns Cursed? Book it!
All of this is moot since our owner has already said he’s not trading him…. We need to rebuild and it’s time to cash in on Book while we still can. Watching him go for 40 on a sub .500 team the next few years does nothing for us, so why pay that huge salary for him?

Re: Are The Suns Cursed? Book it!
my recollection of the last playoffs was us being swept 4 games in the first round with Booker only showing up for the last game and shooting 27% from 3 despite the highest paid team in NBA history being built around him

Well we are talking about the year before here.1tinsoldier wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:08 pmmy recollection of the last playoffs was us being swept 4 games in the first round with Booker only showing up for the last game and shooting 27% from 3 despite the highest paid team in NBA history being built around him

you called it. 40. Yet another loss on a big offensive night.Kryptonic wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 5:56 pmAll of this is moot since our owner has already said he’s not trading him…. and sub .500 by 8 games now.
again, it may just be my bias clouding my recall, but i'm thinking there have been relatively few games we've won all season when Booker has a big offensive night.

3-1 before tonight when Booker scored 40

regarding Ishbia saying he's not trading him...I'm praying it's just posturing for a better return. But i doubt it.Kryptonic wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 5:56 pmAll of this is moot since our owner has already said he’s not trading him…. 1tinsoldier hatred of Booker=JeremyG love of Ayton
Re: Are The Suns Cursed? Book it!
There's only one way to truly make both 1tinsoldier and JeremyG happy: the Suns need to trade Devin Booker for Deandre Ayton.

Then let it go.1tinsoldier wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:36 pmregarding Ishbia saying he's not trading him...I'm praying it's just posturing for a better return. Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

And what did he do in game 6, the most important game?

Booker for Ayton, Camara, and a bunch of picks, and I would be happy.

Re: Are The Suns Cursed? Book it!
Do you really trust Ishbia to get a good return in a trade of both KD and Booker, you can add Beal, Allen and O'Neale to the list of the trade candidates this summer.
Past history says he does not have a clue.
That is if you liked the trades for KD, Beal, Nurkic, Allen and O'Neale. We had a young team that was fun to watch with all it's draft choices and a need for a PF and a legit point guard and PF. We might have been able to get those positions via the draft or trade. We actually had a coach I liked that won a team record 64 games and took us to the finals.
We are now left with Booker and probably with Bud without any draft picks. What a fuck story.
At least during the Sarve years we had the draft to look forward to.

What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.

I said the “downward trajectory of Booker and the team”—the two go hand-in-hand. It’s irrelevant that he made All-NBA if the team was going downhill.Split T wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 6:40 amIrrelevant. You said his downward trend started a full year before. Are you changing to it starting in game 6 of 2023 now? He also made all-nba the next season, so remember that in your calculations.
