The Kevin Durant Problem
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
It wasn’t snow.
It was a thick sheet of ice.

They really showed jump balls in his highlight package?
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
One of the highest jump ball conversions in the league, man!
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
It's dumb. He's never had a season as good as Zubac had this year.
Love, Hurts.
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Let’s not do this again. This horse has been beaten over and over.
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
So we are bidding against ourselves, instead of getting other teams to bid on Durant? Just lowering our asking price with every phone call? This is not to say the Rockets and Suns are not in communication. On the contrary, Phoenix is aggressive in pursuit of a) trading Kevin Durant and b) regaining full control of their draft capital starting with the No. 10 pick in next month’s draft, team sources said. Since the conclusion of the season, Houston has fielded several calls from Phoenix, who have since gradually lowered their asking price for Durant, those sources said. There is a price where the Rockets would be interested, but with a fear of breaking up their roster for a 36-year-old coming off injury, doubt remains over a deal materializing.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
You gotta pay attention to who is writing the articles…Kelly Iko is a Houston guy..so of course this is going to have a Houston slant. It’s clear Houston has been doing what they can to lower KDs value through the media. We don’t always have to immediately jump to conclusions because it fits our narrative.
I do think we had KDs value too high and of course we are coming down…that’s just how negotiations work…Houston is also probably moving from their position, but a writer who gets their info from Houston isn’t going to report that.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
At least we know we have competent, veteran front office executives who know how to negotiate and handle these things.
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
There will be a market for KD, no doubt in my mind, up to the FO to not fuck it up again.

I can see the Knicks, Rockets, Spurs, Mavericks, Timberwolves and Warriors all having interest.

That seems about right, I think Memphis could sneak in there as well, but there is a pretty solid package to be had from what will be available I think. The Bobster wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 2:31 pmI can see the Knicks, Rockets, Spurs, Mavericks, Timberwolves and Warriors all having interest.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Gambo says Clippers are a dark horse? Would love Zubac but it’ll probably would be Norman Powell, Derrick Jones jr and filler. Maybe trade Powell to the Magic for 16th pick and Goga and Da Silva
