Fuck James Jones, picking Jalen Smith. Dumb fuck.

We’d have a championship by now. I don’t think that’s a hyperbolic thing to say neither.

I'd say that's a pretty good indication that he's clutch.

Still makes me furious Jones passed on him!

Wow, just like Game 1 vs the Knicks. Went to sleep with it like 78-67 and thought "The Pacers are really hanging around" and that was despite all the TOs.

Maybe everyone's been severely underestimating the Pacers this year?

Pacers did have the 2nd best record after Jan 1st I think. They definitely flew a bit under the radar.

That's not even the best brazilian play calling.

Romulo Mendonça does it way better (and make we laugh our asses of).

Spoiler: show/hide
It's weird how that one broadcast was so much less excited than the others.

At least he'll replace Joe Johnson for awhile regarding "what-if".

I guess throw Luka in there too if we had drafted him instead of that bum in Portland.

There were some good players picked above him, but Jalen Smith was not one of them. We needed a point guard to replace Chris Paul since we knew he only had a couple good years left. Every single person assumed we were taking Haliburton when he fell to us. It was the most obvious, consensus pick ever.

I know that and you know that but was every player a better choice than Haliburton before he was finally drafted 12th?

Yes it was very obvious, but it seems weird to say we needed a pg to replace CP3 before he even played for us. Hali was more of a hybrid guard at the time. Similar to Lonzo, there were concerns about his half court shot making. Playmaking was always considered very high level though.

When you’re trading for a point guard who’s turning 36, you don’t have the luxury of being shortsighted. They needed to have a longer term plan, and one just happened to fall into their laps. But being shortsighted seems to be the organization’s biggest problem over the last several years.
