Again, asking Beal to be something he's not isn't gonna work. Quickley and Book with Beal rotating through makes more sense to me. I'm hoping Ott's pace and movement based system will allow the wings to get open without having to have a PG who pounds the ball into the ground to get open looks.

Yes, but they're talking about a two-year, $150 million extension, which would leave him with 5 years, $318 million remaining ($63.647 a year, $75 million a year for the last two)

But you can’t compare a salary 4 years from now to a salary right now. The 75 million is the same percentage in 4 years that 53 is today.

While Quickley's salary stays the same for the four remaining years of his contract. In 2028-29 he's still making $32.5 million while Booker is making $75 million.

I think if they want to be competitive next year Poeltl, Quickley and the #9 pick is a pretty good start, especially if you can add a couple of big forwards in the draft or by trading Allen or O'Neale.

I like almost every player on that roster, but it has a gaping hole at the PF spot. But maybe #9 or other picks can help address that. I do think that roster is not even close to a contender, more like a play-in hopeful if anything. But I suspect you wouldn't disagree with that.

I think if the above were our roster, I would work the phones trying to find a trade for Grayson Allen. His lack of defense makes him expendable and I'd rather turn him into a 1st round pick or young PF.

I'm definitely taking everything with a big grain of salt. Some it's true, some of it isn't. There's a lot of posturing and PR from everyone involved.


I do think KD does not want to go to Minny.
I think Minny might be one of the better, or best, deals out there.
I do think the Spurs and Rockets are keeping Sochan and Jabari out of their deals at the moment.
Castle or the 2nd pick are non-starters for the Spurs.
We're not getting back 2 FRPs from anyone.

This feels like a a possible play-in late lotto team, which is what I think the FO is shooting for until the cap clears because they don't have any draft capital.
