I didn’t even have Maluach on my list for one reason: he has trouble even staying on the floor due to conditioning issues.
Like Ayton?
No.

Ayton’s best games as a Sun were when he played over 36 minutes, and he averaged 36.4 mpg in the 2021 playoffs. I don’t know if Maluach can ever even get to 36 minutes in a game.
We've seen how he played those 36 minutes. There was plenty of talks about how he was gazed. Which were used as excuses for his lack of effort and his brain farts.
Ayton would never throw up for giving his all-effort.

SVP's Best Thing I Saw Today was Maluach's emotional reaction to being drafted.

Loved when SVP yells, "Why is he wearing the wrong hat?! Can we fix the hat situation?"

I can't believe we're going to talk about Ayton again on draft night. Well, actually, I can. Sigh.

Notice I’m never the one to bring him up.

I’m confused but they did get a high ceiling prospect and a Top 10 Center. I just am confused what exactly Williams helps them do this yr? Then he’s off to free agency…

I’m just gonna make a prediction right now: Sorber will have a better career than Maluach.

He seems like a great personality and a hard worker. Not sure he is an NBA player though.

I think there’s a chance he busts (Saer Sene 2.0?) and I wouldn’t have minded a bit more positional versatility at the 5 between the two.

If Maluach can reliably stretch out to the 3 point line, that opens up a lot of possibilities.

I don't know if you guys are paranoid or what...

Nearly every pick has bust potential, and it would be very surprising for a kid to go from one year at Duke to being a consensus lottery pick and end up not making it to his second contract which is what I'm implying from "not an NBA player".

I’m happy with the pick. But he carries some risk.

I don’t see how he ends up worse than someone like Capela, though.

A great personality and hard worker is promising. He has the size to last, and it seems the mentality to last. He just has to put it all together. I can dig it.

Do we get his bird rights?

If Ishbia has been good about anything, he has yet to lose a valuable asset solely due to not wanting to pay them.

If Williams does well, he's going to get extended or traded. I highly doubt we just let a talent walk.

You always bitched about this but you're totally misled.

DA didn't play less than 36 mpg the majority of the time because the coaches were against him. He rather didn't have the conditioning to play them, or his play did not justify him being on the court.

When he had his quarterly T supplementation, he would get a little boost and show the intensity and production on the court that signaled to the coaching staff to leave him out there.

I don't care about contracts. Stupid contracts are handed out in bunches every offseason. Mike James has had two NBA contracts.

I just mean I don't know if he is going to be good. I don't watch him and see an impact player that is going to have a long career. I could be wrong.

Where we at this year?

PG: Booker
SG: Green
SF: Dunn
PF: DB
C: Mark Will

Not a fan of PG Book but that’s our option right now

I love Maluach as a person. He seems like a genuinely sweet guy. As a basketball player, maybe. We'll see. Is he a good defender? The videos have him shooting a bunch of 3s. If I wanted a tall skinny center who can shoot 3s and tries to juke-dribble, wouldn't I just re-sign Bol Bol?

Mark Williams is an okay acquisition, but why two 1sts? I really wish we would just hold on to some of these darn picks. I get much more excited about the young guys we draft than anything else going on with the team. And it is super weird how we have just traded for the entire center rotation of Charlotte. I get the sense that our FO doesn't have relationships with very many other NBA teams; we have built one with Charlotte from the Richards trade, so that's the only team we are able to make any trades with.

Our roster still really doesn't make very much sense. We are painfully lacking a creator starting PG, and so I guess we're going to run out Point Book again, which DOES NOT WORK. I guess we could move Green and get Book back to SG, but we'll see. I am doubtful that we can make a good move there that actually improves the team. And we have no starter-quality PFs. Ryan Dunn is awesome but he is not a PF. Putting him there and Book at PG is a bad recipe; having basically our two best players playing the wrong positions. I wish Oso were a starter-caliber PF; I wouldn't be opposed to just starting him there, but maybe the coaching staff wouldn't want to do that. A Booker/Green/Dunn/Oso/Williams starting lineup is not a contender but at least I like most of those players.

The guy I really covet is Trae Young. I know he is a shitty defender, and therefore he would probably be a horrible pairing with Booker. But I would just enjoy having him here on the team, and the Hawks are such a shit show that maybe he's gettable. Wish we could flip Green and assets for Trae. ATL probably would laugh and hang up the phone.

A guy who played 12mpg in Belgium before being drafted is a good reference?
