Nuggets got another good one. He's inconsistent but still a solid pickup

Damn. That's a good pickup for Denver. I'm surprised Detroit didn't keep him. He played well for them last year.

I don't understand what Milwaukee is doing. They are going to pay $20M per year for 5 years so they can sign Myles Turner? Their next best player is Kuzma or Portis? Their guard rotation is not even average. In the playoffs I think they started 3 forwards and Brook Lopez then Ryan Hollins as the only guard. Just strange what they are doing.
Go Suns!

I feel like in this "apron" era of the NBA, teams seem to make really bad decisions when they are at two inflection points: near-contender status (going "all-in" giving away future picks and cap space, and having it fail), or fading-contender status (former champ/contender, making big swings to try to get back to contention). Bucks are the latter. Their title window is probably closed, but they're throwing things at the wall trying to keep a contender alive around Giannis. But none of their big moves have really worked out. Now Dame is gone and they've essentially committed max cap space to get the decent but not max-worthy Myles Turner (Dame's buyout + Turner's contract). They still have an old team and their guard rotation is awful. I don't think they are a contender unless they make some really amazing trades or signings.

Hmm. I got the sense that Duncan Robinson had fallen out of favor in the past few seasons in Miami. But when I check his stats, they seem almost identical to prior seasons. Are the stats misleading? Anyone know?

This was what I was looking for with the Grayson or Royce moves.

Exactly. No way the Pistons rate Duncan Robinson higher than either guy.

BTW, small thing, but have you noticed how Shams goes out of his way to mention and praise the agent who got each player their deal? In the Duncan Robinson one above, he mentions Agent Jason Glushon navigating multiple options in the market. In his tweet about Brook Lopez going to LAC, he mentions Lopez's agents at Wasserman. My theory is that he is in tight with a lot of these agents and that's how he gets scoops, so he's scratching their back by mentioning their names prominently to help raise visibility for them. It's of a piece with that Rich Paul phone call video; the agents are making an advertising play to make sure prospective players know the role they play.

He and Woj began doing that a few seasons ago I believe. Now, the insiders don't just report the deal, they give credit to the agency and even do a little PR describing the guy or throwing out stats. It's all probably written by the agents and just sent to Shams. It seems to really bother guys like Vigil for some reason.

Micic traded again, this time to the Bucks. For someone who wants out of the league, that's quite a lot of movement

He's just a contract now and probably already trying to find his next team in Europe.

There's a lot I know I could say, but I'll just leave my final two cents as this:

I'm a combination of legitimately and paradoxically impressed that that dude can be at peace with the dichotomy, day in and day out, that once upon a time, he chose to show what he could do on the biggest of stages. But only for a time and only for himself.

This is why I am so, so disappointed in Ayton after the Suns. He had a coach that hated him in Phoenix. But he should have elevated his game in Portland.

As a huge Ayton backer, I was profoundly disappointed by his attitude and lack of effort there.

Not surprised to see Denver move off of MPJ, but that's a tough deal. Cam misses 20+ games a year, he is older, and you give up an unprotected first rounder? When is on the court, I think Cam will be a great fit.
