That’s the thing everyone keeps ignoring. I don’t talk about him. I only respond when others bring him up.
Yeah, that's the problem. Nobody wants you to respond when others bring him up. Stop doing that.

I just happened to catch this on local radio today while driving. Pretty interesting that Paul “leaked” this just to show his power behind the scenes. You’d think Ishbia isn’t too happy this got released.

Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I’m skeptical. I bet Rich Paul did nothing and we got our guy anyway.

Yep. He may have known Toronto was refusing to take him at #9 (I heard there were concerns about his visa or something?), thus “if he gets past Brooklyn” (#8), he knew he could “get him to Phoenix.” It may have been a clever way of making sure he didn’t fall past #10.

I’m getting excited for Khaman. I like his aggression and length, I think he’s going to disrupt a lot if he can put it all together.

I'll wait to see if he can make them in games. Nurk was making 3s last summer. I've seen Mitch Robinson playing point and making 3s in summer runs. His form is solid and he's got good hands and a soft touch, which are both encouraging.

I think his footwork needs some tightening up tho.

Good vibes and all but those are unguarded in an empty gym.

I'm optimistic about his shot because he has a great release. His challenge will be to make it much faster, he was way too slow in that clip.

The other thing about having a center shooting corner 3s is it takes him off the offensive glass, and that was a strength of Maluach in college. If we have a PF who can crash effectively, then sure, let him take some corner 3s. But if we're smaller and not a great rebounding team, we'll need him in the paint.

How is Maluach at defense and rebounding? I have seen brief comments saying he's good at protecting the paint, but I haven't seen many clips of it. Is he a good defender? I'm glad he can hit 3s, but if he can't defend the interior or secure a board he will be less useful to us.

So is this good or bad?

I'm wondering if there is any fall out from the Mark Williams trade. Is Paul feeling good about steering Maluach to Phoenix now that they brought in Williams?

Well I’d like it a lot better if he was talking to Gregory.
Sure, but this just confirms what already knew/suspected.

I’m no expert, I didn’t watch him, but from what I’ve read, his rim protection is the reason he was a top 10 prospect. That’s why we drafted him. Not for his shooting.

You read my mind. Mitchell Robinson's 3-ppoint shot was a big thing in pre-draft and summer workouts.

Finishing at the rim, defending, and rebounding is what he excelled in at Duke. All the rest of this stuff is the Ryan McDonough/Chad Ford 1-on-0 workout stuff.

You all can dismiss his 3-point shooting all you want, but I think it will be a part of his game. He shot them in FIBA/Olympics, though my quick look says he didn't shoot well. I know he is in a gym by himself unguarded, but *I* will be optimistic that his form looks good and doesn't look like, say, Oso's shot.
I'm not necessarily concerned about offensive rebounding because my interest is in seeing him play some 4 with Williams. He looks to move well on the perimeter on defense, but he will need a passable 3-pt shot to make that work.

Defense is what he is best at, but his rebounding was decent on a per minute basis. He only played 21.2 minutes per game, which continues to be my main concern. His offense isn’t why he was top 10, but could be a nice bonus if it develops.
