Pretty great that we've got the next Embiid, Booker, Draymond and Kawhi on our Summer League team!
Precious Achiuwa, Dalano Banton, Batum, Chris Boucher, Amir Coffey, Tre Jones, Laravia, Mamukelashvili, Tre Mann, De'Anthony Melton, Minott, Nance, Chris Paul, GP2, T. Prince, Reed, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Tate, Watford, Yabusele

Draymond is an all time defensive player and elite passer. There are some real similarities and I know I also mentioned Draymond when talking about oso, but he’s got a ways to go still.

Still have to re-watch it but like others said, we just didn't have the talent yesterday. Underwhelming without Dunn and Maluach and we were your average bad SL team.
Oso and Brea stood out for sure. Our guard play wasn't that strong so Oso was handling and initiating a lot. He was trying to pick his spots and did a real good job overall. His added weight is noticeable and those dunks down the lane have been violent, which isn't something I was expecting. I really hope we can find a way to take advantage of his ballhandling, passing and IQ. The lack of jumper will always be a hindrance but he's too smart and too versatile not to be impactful. He was also making good plays in the midpost/short roll area, passing out to shooters or putting up his push shot in the lane.
Brea again looked like a pro, scoring in a bunch of different ways. He and Oso (and Dunn) are just a cut above the rest of the team and it shows.

Oso with the drive and dunk on people with his left hand like Lebron on a fast break is fun development.

Yeah, what you guys said.
Big props to Oso and Brea. We didn't have the size and talent to compete (Wood in particular got destroyed), but the guys we are evaluating showed out. Both of those guys looked too good for summer league, and I hope they go into the regular season knowing they belong despite the areas they need to work on.
Small props to Collins and Ellis. Neither can defend in the NBA, but Ellis can shoot and Collins runs the offense fairly well. I want to keep an eye on Collins and consider him for a deep bench spot. Seems like a guy who will take practice seriously enough to be ready to play even if he's only called on 10 times in the season.

Oso's handles have been really impressive. I want him to drive it in with force and put up a shot as much as possible. He could easily get a shot up or force a foul with his explosiveness. That would be a pleasant development that could keep him on the floor.ShelC wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 5:58 amStill have to re-watch it but like others said, we just didn't have the talent yesterday. I was pleased with Collins in the first game, but against the Hawks, he kept calling his own number just to drive and put up a weak ass layup against 3 defenders that was easily blocked. I had visions of a suckier Josh Jackson. It was because he and Ellis sucked so bad that the team was non-competitive without Oso. Huntley also was very bad.

Oh, they sucked for sure. It looked to me like Collins was told to be aggressive to see what he can do, especially with the forwards being out of position to receive a pass. Ellis hit his shots, and that's all you can really ask of him. He's a summer league guy.Carno wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 9:14 amI was pleased with Collins in the first game, but against the Hawks, he kept calling his own number just to drive and put up a weak ass layup against 3 defenders that was easily blocked.
