I think Gillespie is the best of the 3 because he offers production on both ends, heady plays and high effort on defense.

I'm sitting back and looking at what the Suns' front office might be doing. They're trying to stockpile assets, kind of like what McDonough tried to do. Kuminga at 20 million would be an asset, for instance.

But there needs to be a second part of this strategy, to rehabilitate distressed assets. That requires proper team construction. And players like Oso are crucial glue players.

Do they get this?

I worry about Gillespie in real games. He was good when our season was over, but I want to see how he handles a full season and being on scouting reports.

Who do we think wins the battle for backup pg?

Gillespie, Butler, or Goodwin?

Gambo said Gillespie is the backup right now and Butler and Goodwin would be fighting over the 3rd spot. Am I the only one who’s not sold on Gillespie? I kinda think Butler would be the best of those 3. I’m happy to let them all fight for it though and just play whoever fits and produces the best.
I'm sold on CGs swagger and skill, but I'm not convinced he has the talent to hold down 15 mpg on a winning team. I do think he plays the right way.

Goodwin is the most athletic and the best defender, but I really don't want the ball in hands unless the defense has left him alone.

Butler seems like a combo of the two, a better defender than CG and a better on-ball player than Goodwin. Might not be athletic enough to stick, but I admit I've seen the least of him.

I wouldn't be surprised if two of those guys cycle in and out of the rotation, but I couldn't tell you which 2 it will be.

It's not 15 minutes, but Gillespie played like 10 minutes a game as a rookie on the Denver team coming off it's championship season and they were pretty good. I seem to remember him playing pretty well there too.

CG only played 24 games for that Denver team, though.

Not trying to knock the guy. I like his game and hope he can be this generation's Dragic.

Of the 3, Butler would probably be best for our bigs on offense.
Precious Achiuwa, Dalano Banton, Batum, Chris Boucher, Amir Coffey, Tre Jones, Laravia, Mamukelashvili, Tre Mann, De'Anthony Melton, Minott, Nance, Chris Paul, GP2, T. Prince, Reed, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Tate, Watford, Yabusele
