One thought I had watching this game: I can't wait for Jared Butler to be off this team. His guard play is barely Summer League quality. He makes the Suns summer league PGs look like All-stars.
Yeah, I agree; I have really not liked his minutes. He just seems like yet another replacement-level journeyman NBA guard who kind of hurts you more than he helps you. Inefficient, poor decision making, a bit too shoot-first; not a good enough shooter, passer, or defender to really offset the low IQ plays.

I have to disagree with all the negative comments on Oso. He is most definitely a better NBA player than Nick Richards. The only thing Nick does better than Oso is rebound, and maybe low post defense against large opposing centers. Everything else Oso is equal to or better. His defensive and offensive IQ are off the charts. Oso is starting over Richards because he is a better player. It's pretty clear that Ott values his high IQ and motor. Based on what I've seen so far, Oso gets the backup role when the season starts, while Nick gets spot minutes.
I'm not trying to hate on Oso. But he has struggled a bit as a starting center. I don't think that is the best role for him. I don't think he is a better player than Richards right now; he has some skills that are ahead of Richards, but if I had to pick one of them to play at C for 48 minutes, I would choose Richards for sure because of the size and rebounding and interior defense. Richards is also pretty efficient around the basket for little shots and putbacks. I love Oso's hustle, athleticism, passing, help defense, and general court awareness, but he is missing some of those skills that Richards provides. Honestly if you could merge the two you'd have an amazing NBA center.

Agree. Can't stand these low level guards trying to make a name for themselves and just take away from the other players I actually want to see with the ball in their hands

He had another really nice block on the play right before this one. I don't think EJ and KR caught it from Scottsdale.
Precious Achiuwa, Dalano Banton, Batum, Chris Boucher, Amir Coffey, Tre Jones, Laravia, Mamukelashvili, Tre Mann, De'Anthony Melton, Minott, Nance, Chris Paul, GP2, T. Prince, Reed, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Tate, Watford, Yabusele

Really liked the scrap and hustle to get back and then win this. Maluach got better the longer he was out there and I liked Fleming - I hope he can carve out a role because he’s the type of player we really don’t have in the main rotation.
I also like Goodwin better than Butler in that guard battle.
Like others have said, this team looks like it will be more fun to watch even when it will be outmatched

The one thing I wish Book(anyone) would have learned from CP3 while he was here is the art of the rip-thru while in the penalty.

It pisses me off that Harden learned to use the refs, yet nobody on our team(BOOKER!) ever did.
He's smart enough to average 10ft a game; I just think he doesn't want the rep

I would experiment with Oso as our "point guard" in a big lineup, Ala Ben Simmons.
I like his playmaking; he is what everyone wished Saric was

LeBronesque timing on that.
High hopes for our young kids.

I'm prospecting on Ryan's cards; I really think he's a winner

Dork take bro

If he wants to make a team maybe he should consider not playing that way, cause that sure ain't it. Help my team as a whole or go back to the G League and he's not my cousin I couldn't care less about his personal success

I get that he is trying to showcase himself to land a roster spot (here or elsewhere). But I don't think it helps his cause to play that way. Chucking up a bunch of bad shots and missing them isn't going to land you an NBA roster spot, esp. if you're trying to be a PG. The PG's job is to run the offense. So show that you can do that well. Play smarter, find the open man, set up plays. Sometimes shoot it yourself, but only if it's a good shot, the best shot available. That's how you convince a team to take a chance on you as their 3rd string PG.
