I would call it a concern more than an assumption…at least for me. Both have historically liked to not play high effort defense…hopefully that changes. We’ve seen Book play high level defense at times…I’m not familiar enough with Green to really say.
Book seemed to be giving very good effort on the defensive end in preseason. I don't see why Green wouldn't as well.

Quite a few high usage guards like to conserve energy on defense. Having 1 do it can be manageable…2 is not…it’s why Book/Beal didn’t work super great, and especially why Tyus/Beal/Book didn’t work. Similar to say Dame/CJ. I am encouraged that Book has shown defensive effort in the past(and glad to hear he’s doing it in preseason) and Green is at least active(he’s just really small and likely easily pushed around). Having actively engaged defensive forwards/bigs will help too. KD was a great help defender, but he also liked to conserve energy.

Let's let them play together for a minute before we make all these assumptions.
By then it will be too late for assumptions. We will have too much data for assumptions and will have to move on to observations. This is our best chance to assume!

And you know what that does. :)

It's a prediction, not an assumption. Others have predicted different things. Some of us will be right and some of us will be less right. It's all in good fun. I think we all want the same thing: for the Suns to be awesome and kick a bunch of ass.
