Loved Whiplash. Enjoyed Boyhood. Looking forward to seeing Birdman.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Just watched Whiplash. One of the most tense and insane movies I've EVER seen. Wow... I feel like my blood pressure is through the rough. Definitely the best movie I've seen in quite some time.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

John Wick was pretty good. Good for Keanu Reeves.

Just saw Chappie. Really enjoyed it. There are a lot of parallels to District 9.

It's getting panned. I really liked Elysium though so I had high hopes for Chappie. I think Blomkamp is talented & still think Alien 5 could be good.

I'm glad I didn't read any reviews before watching the movie.

I loved District 9. Elysium was one of the most disappointing movies I've seen in a long time.

District 9 was a melding of concepts, including dystopia, boat people/immigration camps and a bit of apartheid and "The Fly." Could have been more tightly edited (about 20 minutes) but it was a solid effort.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

Saw Interstellar yesterday. Beautifully shot, but didn't think the story was anything great. Reminded me a lot of a movie I've seen before, can't remember the name tho.

Not Nolan's best work tho.

Me too. Really enjoyed Contact, especially upon 2nd viewing.

I was thinking about Contact and there are definitely similarities. Feel like there was another one.

Still waiting to see Foxcatcher and really want to see Whiplash now. Caught the end of Birdman and didn't think it was something I'd like, but i'll give it a shot.

Also thought I would love Inherent Vice and I fell asleep about 20minutes in. I could watch the trailer over and over but the movie is just boring. Should've been a snappy Coen's Brother type but missed.

I was a little disappointed with Birdman. Maybe I just have to give it another shot and watch it with a different mentality. I think I was expecting something entirely different going into it which led to me being letdown.

Birdman has a fairly narrow appeal and is edgy and quirky.

I really enjoyed it (as I have said numerous times). I don't think I have a seen a better constructed movie. And I don't mean the plot construction. I literally mean the way each scene was arranged, shot, and edited together.

I almost can't believe that movie is good. I saw previews for it and dismissed it thinking it would be awful. And it has Charlize Theron in it, and she is usually in movies that are duds. Happy to hear that it is so good. I will have to check it out.
