It's like an algebra equation.

Is Austin Reaves really better than Booker?

Nah that's 5 steps even with a "gather" and euro step. He shuffled his feet before the euro step, which is when he needed to dribble.
Well there’s no limit on how many steps you can take during the gather, so it’s not that you just count 1 gather step. You can take 10 steps between dribbles if you manage to keep the dribble active. Steps don’t count until he has completed gathering the ball. A gather is determined as:

1. 2 hands on the ball(he only takes 2 steps after this)
2. Ball comes to a rest and with hand under ball
3. Has enough control of ball to pass, shoot, hold, or change hands with the ball.

It’s these last two options that are subjective, but I do think he gains enough possession of the ball right before his left foot lifts which then his right foot comes down(0-Step) and then he goes left, right, left for 3 steps and a travel.

If you determine that left foot was off the floor before he gathered, then then that next left step is actually the 0-step and he only takes 2.
Call me old school, dinosaur or whatever, but I don’t really care for the semantics of the rules: that’s a travel for mine.

Portland won 3 of the last 4. I told you Tiago Splitter would be good, I just won't expect to be so early.

That’s fair…I just think it’s important to know the distinction…it’s fine to complain that it should be a travel, but that’s different than complaining that it is a travel that went uncalled…though in this instance it’s actually both I think.

Portland was going to be good this year with a donkey as a head coach; we knew they were an up and coming team with a stellar defensive lineup

Yeah Giddey would have been great for us. It's too bad.

Was there ever a realistic scenario where the Suns could have gotten him? There was talk on this board but I don't recall any legitimate discussion in the real world about Giddey being a target. Seemed like Chicago really wanted to bring him back, and they were just hassling over what the number was going to be.

Actually he's averaging 11-3-6 on 41% from 3 in just 25 minutes off the bench. Imagine if he started!

I wish we could trade for Ja, but I don't think we could pull the assets together. We'd have to give them Booker probably, and they wouldn't give us Ja AND picks for Book, so it wouldn't really help us rebuild or improve. KD-for-Ja would have been interesting but I don't know why Memphis would have done that, given their roster and timetable.

Bradley Beal has missed 2 of 5 Clipper games and is averaging 6.4 Pt when he plays.
What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.

KD would've vetoed a trade to Memphis, anyone would. I think Ja is too toxic at the moment, a lot of baggage. He needs a team where he can just play basketball and reinvent himself - if he's motivated and up to it. Not sure which team has the assets or interest in him.
