I like Booyea but he has come down to earth and is more a 5th guard, not a 4th. I also don’t think Allen and Colin are ball dominant guards.

I haven’t watched every game recently but I’m not sure why everyone is so down on Green. I think he’s still got promise.
He's not a historically successful archetype. Smallish shooting guard with no real court vision and a tendency toward poor shot selection. He does have good athleticism, when healthy, and you can use a guy like that, but if he's paid like one of the two or three best players on your team, you're probably not really a contender.

I get that but he provides one skill we don’t have which is someone who can go north south and attack the basket. I’m a little concerned that that’s so far been more theory than practice but this Jazz game was one in the right direction. He’s not strong or big and doesn’t have strong passing skills but he’s not Cam Thomas. He’s also not being paid top dollar, IIRC. His contract is about 33 mil or so which in this cap environment is not that bad for what he delivers.

If he played smarter with better shot selection, he would be really good. As it is...just a force of nature that could help or hurt you.

But I am beyond thrilled with Maluach. Eddie Johnson said after a miss that in two years, he would be tearing down the rim. He's going to be like an athletic Gobert-Garnett hybrid. Could average 20-15-3-2 as a DPOY candidate.

If Oso can learn how to shoot...

I am very high on both Fleming and Maluach. What I don’t get is why we don’t see the possibility for Green to improve. He isn’t seen as a sought after commodity right now, so if we want to trade him for good value we should probably hope that he develops into a more complete player rather than to see for two dimes and a quarter.

IMO the ball-stopping, low FG%, and big contract are three strikes against Green. I generally like him but he's had way too many 5-16 type of shooting games. And when you watch him play you can just see too many plays where he gets the ball and starts dribbling and puts his head down and you just 100% know he's going to shoot it no matter what comes, ignoring anybody else who may be open, ignoring whether he's being double- or triple-teamed. Some night (like our most recent game) he plays really well! And he has a lot of talent. But I don't think he is consistent enough and I don't think he plays the "right" way in terms of using his offensive talents to create the best basketball outcome. The contrast to Booker is quite stark: Book is much more likely to set up others and make smart plays. It's not so much that I want Green gone at all costs; more of an opportunity cost thing. What else could we be doing with that salary slot? Would much rather have a PF there, or a defensive monster, or a true PG, or even just use that cap space to keep our guys like Williams and CG, or most anything else.

Hence, the expansion draft.

Great game all around, and especially by Green. He hasn't been consistent for us this year, but I think he's better than what we've seen. This has been his worst season in terms of both health and shooting #s. He missed out on the early season growing pains, and now he's playing catch up. I think he'll be better next year. The question with him is how to put him in the best position to succeed.

I'd love to see more Green / Oso 2 man game. Let Oso simplify the game for JG so his quickness can shine. CG - JG - Allen - Fleming - Oso would be a great second unit.
in Ott we trust

This was another good Dunn game, but he’s now missed 12 straight free throws.
That's incredible! Is that some kind of record?
@Shabazz, this is hard info to find. @The Bobster, any help? Best I could find was this TikTok and this is just since 2001-2002:

Two tied with 15 straight misses: Steven Adams and Ayton's favorite, Clint Capela.

https://www.tiktok.com/@notbpod_/video/ ... _device=pc

I also fact checked you to confirm. Ryan Dunn games where he attempted a FT in reverse order until he had a make:

3/28/26 0-2
3/06/26 0-2
3/03/26 0-2
2/21/26 0-2
2/11/26 0-4
2/10/26 2-2

He actually shot it decent before that with few 0-fers.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.
