Yea, kinda what I figured was going to happen with doing it in movie form. Still... The first few seasons are some of the best TV. Tom Hardy is just killer in it. Also, if you like Tom Hardy... I highly recommend Mob Land. Great show and just finished the first season on Paramount+. Add in Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan... *chefs kiss*.

Another really good show... At least the first season was dang good, the second season was good, but not as good. The first season, Ryan Eggold (The Black List, New Amsterdam) steals the show with his performance.

Of course it's a matter of opinion, and if folks here like The Leftovers, that's great, enjoy. I personally didn't like it, but people like different things. I don't want to "yuck your yum" or say anybody is wrong for liking it. Fwiw, some of my thoughts on the series, trying not to spoil too much:
Spoiler: show/hide

I'm not reading either of your spoilers until I'm caught up.

I've watched all of Cross so far and I like it. Yeah, S1 was better but S2 is fun too.

Which episode in S2 are you on?

I watched all of S2 of Cross. I've only watched S1E1 of The Leftovers so far.

Just watched The Leftovers S1E3, Two Boats and a Helicopter. It's been the highlight so far. Changed character focus and was riveting.

We have the show finale, Season 3 episode 8 this evening. I am so sad we are going to be done. It has been such a tremendous show. Arguably top 5 in the last 5 years we've watched. Definitely one of the craziest shows!

Edit: We just finished. Absolutely worth watching until the end. No spoilers. Just hope you enjoy it all as much as we did. I'm very sad it's over. Apparently it is from Damon Lindelof, the guy who co-created Lost. I never finished Lost because it went off the rails. I'm glad The Leftovers had such a great ending with closure.

Just watched another character focussed episode. This time about the woman who lost her entire family as she goes to a work conference. These are some of the best episodes. I'm definitely enjoying it.

Anybody else watching DTF St. Louis on HBO? Great show! Very interesting story weaving with twists and turns. Not only that but the writer/director stole my name. David Harbour of Stranger Things fame gives a standout performance! I just watched episode 5 last night. I believe there will be 7 episodes.

Hear that, Mori! Some of us don't eat mayonnaise sandwiches or are offended by the occasional naked dude with a nice physique. I'm secure with my ET like build. It probably helps that I'm not religious in any way. More agnostic than anything. My wife mentioned some religious folks might take offense to the show.
