Suns made some coaching staff changes, not sure if this was posted or not so just in case here it is.
Assistant coach Kenny Gattison's two-year tenure on the Suns staff ended as he was informed that his contract, set to expire June 30, would not be renewed. The Suns also will reassign assistant coach Mark West to the front office, promote player development coach Corey Gaines to assistant coach and hire D-League affiliate head coach Nate Bjorkgren as a player-development coach.

Director of Player Personnel John Treloar, who ran most of the basketball operation for former Suns General Manager Lance Blanks, also will leave after the June 25 NBA draft to become the associate head coach at Louisiana State, where he was an assistant coach from 2004-08. Treloar has scouted prospects and organized draft workouts for the Suns since Ryan McDonough became general manager in 2013, the same time assistant GM Pat Connelly was hired.
West will continue to work with the Suns' big men on the floor, particularly when they are in Phoenix. He has a successful, strong relationship with Alex Len and Markieff Morris. His new role as a director of player relations will focus on mentoring a young Suns team that had behavioral issues on and off the court last season.

The last time someone mentor the twins it didn't end so well.

I guess we have switched from targeting players' brothers to their sons. Hooray? I guess at least we can go after Lebron's kid now.

Coaches and FO guys can only do so much. We need some veteran leaders in the lockerroom to check guys and hold them accountable. Typically your best player, or one of your core guys, is that. Stevie was that in 2004 for a young team. LeBron did it in Cleveland. Paul with the Clippers. We're not even close in that regard I'm afraid.

"We're very comfortable staying there and picking there," McDonough said. "It would have to take a really good offer for us to move the pick. I think it's unlikely we'll add an additional first-round pick this year or drop down in the draft. We'll take those calls if they come to us but we're comfortable with where we are at 13. We like the pool of players we think will be there."
Could be misdirection but we probably aren't trading anyone for a better pick.

"Drop down" means move to a later pick. "Move up" refers to obtaining a better lottery pick.

DLee is asking to be traded (already). I would send GS the Morris Bros in a heartbeat. They'd fit that style, we can take DLee for a year and then shed his massive contract.

Granger exercises his option to stay. Could be an interesting addition if healthy.

Not surprised. I think that was decided upon months ago when he reported to the Suns & began rehabbing. We need a veteran presence. I really hope he has something left in the tank. It was a fairly significant injury but he's 32 not 42. He also has played very little in the last 3 seasons. I guess we'll see what's what come October. I do think if he ever wants to see the court one of PJ Tucker or Marcus Morris will need to be traded. The emergence of TJ Buckets means very little playing time for another SF.

GSW with the some combo of MoBros, Iggy, Livingston off the bench, yikes, scary good.

I just read this as well...and was intrigued. I have always liked Lee. He is expensive, but seems like he could provide some good leadership. I think also he could put up pretty good numbers as our starting power forward, if given the minutes. I just am not sure how to make the deal work. GS is not looking to take back much guaranteed salary, so I doubt they would be interested in the Morii (they are prioritizing re-signing Draymond Green and need to clear some salary).

I guess the question is, how much cap room do the suns have to be able to absorb Lee and what un-guaranteed contracts can they ship to GS to help facilitate the deal?

Yeah. Mo Speights & Bogut aren't exactly chopped liver and they barely played in the finals. The regular season is a different animal tho. Can't get away with just 8 every night.

I think nobody really wants David Lee as bad as we want to dump the Morrii.

I think Markieff still has tremendous value. We'll keep him unless we get value back in a trade.

Marcus, OTOH... I want Marcus gone yesterday.

I wouldn't do the Lee trade. We won't get anywhere by just dumping what little talent we have. Markieff's contract is quite a steal of a deal, and he's actually quite a talented player. You could argue that he's our best player.
