I suppose you could take Portis here in this scenario, I know some people are higher on him than I am, I don't think he's going to score much in the NBA, at least not right away but he does have interesting size and versatility.

Yeesh, don't like how that draft plays out with Booker, Kaminsky, Turner all leaving the board before our pick.

I do not want Stanley Johnson. In this scenario I'd be pretty tempted by Dekker even though I have concerns with his ability to create off the dribble. He's a legit 6-8 with athletic ability and versatility. Maybe Lyles as well, but I think I like Dekker more than Lyles.

Worst case scenario. I suppose Stanley Johnson. Not impressed by Dekker or Lyles. Who knows, they may take Harrell in this situation. Might as well. But really would not be happy with the draft. Probably wont be anyway.

I like Dekker more than Johnson/Lyles/Harrell - I think offensively he has the cleanest chance of becoming a scorer in the NBA and with his length and athletic ability he should be able to play adequate defense in the NBA.

I give bonus points to kids who played a couple years of college under a great coach, Bo Ryan at Wisconsin is one of those guy, Coach K another, Izzo another, Sean Miller another..... Dekker played 3 years for Bo Ryan. Coming out of Wisconsin he's going to understand how to play M2M defense, how to pass the ball, he's not going to turn it over, he's not going to commit stupid fouls. This is another reason I really like Kaminsky.

That being said, there's guys I hope are at #13 before Dekker, I'd rather have Kaminsky, Booker, and probably Turner.

The thing with Dekker is that he played on a loaded Wisconsin team that had a bunch of options to score.

Ive actually been warming to him lately, I wonder if he had been on a bad team and been 'the guy' if he wouldn't have scored like 20PPG and be higher thought of right now. This is a kid that went to some big time summer camps and performed exceptionally well against high level college talent.

At the end of the day, he's got bust potential, but he's also tall, rangy, athletic and skilled. I'm starting to like him more and more. Here's some stuff from the camps he domainated over the summer, again, maybe he got lost in the talent a little bit at Wisconsin. Jay Bilas called him the best player at these camps, camps that included guys like Hollis-Jefferson, Stanley Johnson, RJ Hunter, Kelly Oubre and Dez Wells among others.

First of all, he's grown a couple of inches and now stands at 6-foot-9. The rising junior had a solid season in 2013-14, but a big step forward could put Wisconsin back in the Final Four and keep them among the national championship favorites. He knocked down shots from the perimeter, handled the ball a little bit, moved without the ball extremely well -- and competed. There aren't many 6-foot-9 guys that possess his skillset.

I think I'd take Johnson. Partly it's the Arizona connection, but is there anyone left on the board who's clearly a better prospect or fit?

I'm just not a Johnson guy. The upside is there but he really shrunk in the NCAA's. I am almost willing to say Hollis-Jefferson (you just know he's bound for the Spurs) will be a better pro.

I like rhj better than Johnson as well, but actually don't think either is a great fit. With Tucker, Warren, and Goodwin, we already have enough non shooting and average shooting wings. I think lyles is pretty redundant with markieff on the roster as well. Looney intrigues me because he can add rebounding and rum protection, with the potential for offensive versatility.

I don't care about his touted shooting or length. He plays in LATVIA.

Nurkic, Len, PGasol, MGasol, Gortat, Vucevic, Gobert, Mozgov, Divac, Pekovic. European big men have no greater fail rate than homegrown ones.

And btw, you watch this kid play and he is anything but a stiff. He runs the court well, moves well, has an excellent vertical. His only flaw is his strength. But he has a frame that will fill out some. He is also a pf not a c.

Okay. And I would only take the Gasol bros as top 10 picks from that list. Plenty of those players I named were touted as "running the court well." They're rather big and stiff or big and soft. No big man outside of the Gasol bros and Dirk have been worthy of a top 10 pick in the last 10 years that I can recall IMO, let alone top 5.

He's no stiff. He's a cross of Nowitzki and AK47, but like everyone he does have bust potential. I think it's a lot less though with him.

He is more Kevin Durant than Dirk. Imagine that. A 7-3 Durant. He is not quite as fast, but he is much taller.

You redraft 2013 and Gobert is a top 2 pick, redraft 2011 and Vucevic is top 10, Valuncinas and Mirotic are probably top 10 as well. AK47 should have been a top 10 pick too.

It's tough to know what you're getting with these international players, so many players drafted high turn out to be busts and many players drafted late turn out to be really good.

As Bruiser mentioned in another context, we may be in a position where gambling makes sense.

That's more a reflection of how shitty those drafts were. You really think Gobert is worthy of a #2 pick? Unbelievable.

A top 5 pick should be a franchise player. None of those players are remotely worth building a team around. They are decent role players, aka mid-first round talent.
