NBA Free Agency
Re: NBA Free Agency
Are we not reaching out to Greg Monroe? He'd be a nice double/double every night addition to the team and would bolster our front line.
Re: NBA Free Agency
I think he's probably going to Knicks. And the problem with Monroe is you have to pair him with a rim protecting 4. He's a 5 that doesn't protect the rim.
Re: NBA Free Agency
Yeah, he's a bad defender. Not something you want with a 5.

Re: NBA Free Agency
Bledsoe and Knight are better than Demarre Carroll right? Crazy money.
Love, Hurts.

Re: NBA Free Agency
I really think the charges against the Morris brothers have done quite a bit of damage to our offseason. It's hard to recruit other forwards when you don't know if your starting PF is going to be in Sing Sing next season and certainly it's diminishing their trade value if not killing it altogether.
Re: NBA Free Agency
Any F we sign will probably be a starter regardless of the charges, so I'm not sure it matters there. I do agree that their trade was diminished, i say was because, all of a sudden, these guys are on sweetheart deals.Shabazz wrote:I really think the charges against the Morris brothers have done quite a bit of damage to our offseason. Re: NBA Free Agency
Sadly, this is probably true. There is one thing the Suns could do to send a message to them. Cut Marcus. Just flat cut him. Eat his contract and move him on. Keef can then decide what is really important to him.Shabazz wrote:I really think the charges against the Morris brothers have done quite a bit of damage to our offseason. Re: NBA Free Agency
1) Innocent until proven guilty. Yes, they probably did it and may face a guilty verdict, but the process hasn't played out yet. If you were accused of a crime and fired / cut from your job before the trial even started, I think you would be upset.
2) It's easy to say "cut the guy" when it isn't your millions of dollars that you are throwing away to do so. If it were your money, that you had actually earned in your real life, and not some other person's Monopoly money, you'd probably at least be looking to see if anybody would take him off your hands. Especially in light of 1).
3) Despite 1) and 2), I'd be happy to see Marcus Morris no longer a Sun after this season.

This (the uncertainty) is what's hurting us more than anything. If they were acquitted/charges were dropped or even if they were convicted, we'd have a clearer picture of our options.Mori Chu wrote:1) Innocent until proven guilty. The real Isiah Thomas was saying on NBATV that he thought Tobias Harris could be the next Jimmy Butler and really break out.Split T wrote:If Millsap takes the magic offer 4/80, I'd be tempted to go after Tobias Harris. Not necessarily because he's a good fit, but he'd be a good asset with the way money is being thrown around. Although that didn't work out too great with Isaiah Thomas.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Re: NBA Free Agency
Woj reporting the 5/70 for Knight. That's a crazy deal for Thompson when you'll be paying Kyrie, LBJ, & Love max deals.

Knight deal looks great compared to a lot of other deals being signed
Re: NBA Free Agency
OK. Just theoretically. The Suns had about $12 million to work with. Say Alderidge decides to come. How do they get the rest of the space to sign him.
Re: NBA Free Agency
Um we just signed Tyson Chandler.
