Around the League: The Offseason
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
JRich's game is kind of everything I wish Gerald Green could be.

Most memorable Jrich Moments?
-His Game tying 3 vs LAL in Game 5. (What could of been had he boxd out Artest though seconds later)
-His Game 3 vs Portland in the 2010 playoffs (42 I think?)
-His Reaction to the 4pt play Goran had vs SA in the infamous Game 3 of the WCSF?
-His 360 dunk that was blocked by Lebron. (It was clearly a foul, but still made him look stupid for show boating)

“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

I also remember a buzzerbeater from an alleyoop. Hill was the passer I believe.
Also catched fire like everybody else to make 22 3pts against the Lakers the season we had Hedo.

DRose having surgery on a fractured orbital from an elbow he took in practice. I'd feel back for him if I didn't think he was a selfish douche. Karma...

Why do you feel that way?ShelC wrote:DRose having surgery on a fractured orbital from an elbow he took in practice. I'd feel back for him if I didn't think he was a selfish douche. Karma...

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
There was always something about him that rubbed me the wrong way, even dating back to college. As much as the league promoted him as a superstar, I thought he was always kind of aloof and standoff-ish. Now that's fine if that's your personality, but then during free agency when the Bulls were in the mix to sign some big names, he basically said he wasn't willing to help recruit anyone and that it's not his job. Then he said he was OK with pacing himself or sitting out because he was thinking about life after basketball. And then talking about his free agency in 2017 a few days ago and wanting to make sure his son is taken care of (after all the money he's made)...just seems like a selfish person. He's entitled to say/think those things, but he's not a guy I'd want to go to war with.

Does that even matter, considering that we proceeded to dump Gortat for basically nothing? The Bobster wrote:The Suns definitely sold at the right time on Richardson, and actually got something of real value (Gortat) for him.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
They got 2 1/2 quality years out of Gortat, which is more than they would have gotten out of Richardson. They basically traded Gortat for some savings (the insurance on Okafor) and a pick they wasted, but keeping Richardson would have been worse in the long run.

So in some other news...
The Bucks extended John Henson for around 45mil over 4 years. I thought it was interesting given JKidd dropped his minutes last season. But he's got the length and shtoblocking they need next to Monroe and Parker. Just tough to play him extended minutes because he can't hold his own in the post. Nice role player off the bench tho.
And Channing Frye is supposedly available and the Magic aren't asking much in return. Wondered how he'd fair with Skiles and I guess, if true, this answers it.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Frye sure fits that defensive mindset we are trying to achieve. That and the above average rebounding numbers for a 7 footer. Plus the solid clutch three point shooting in the second half of a season and we can get him for cheap? Sign me up.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Frye is due to be sent to the glue factory, folks. He gained weight and blew out his leg last year. I loved him when he was here, but he isn't that player any more.
