First Round: Toronto Raptors (3) vs. Brooklyn Nets (6)
Re: First Round: Toronto Raptors (3) vs. Brooklyn Nets (6)
I want the Raptors to win, but they don't seem to really know how to put a solid 4 quarters of basketball together. Jonas V is decent but he seems really clunky and stiff on a lot of plays to me. Demar Derozan is a guy I would NOT want on my team for big money. Lowry is their real gem, most of the time. And I love Terrence Ross.
The Nets know a LOT more about winning big playoff games than these young Raptors do. If they lose, it'll simply be because their old bodies couldn't do what they wanted them to do for 48 minutes.

Side note: How badly miscast is Seth Rogan as the bumbling old square husband in this "Neighbors" movie they keep advertising? He's a pothead goofball, not a stiff old grump.

Plain 9.5M is not a bad contract for him anymore.Mori Chu wrote:Demar Derozan is a guy I would NOT want on my team for big money.

The Raps need to rebound and defend better.

One last shot to take it to overtime.

I don't think they are going for stiff old grump. They are going for average Joe that is a new parent when a nightmare moves in next door.Mori Chu wrote:Side note: How badly miscast is Seth Rogan as the bumbling old square husband in this "Neighbors" movie they keep advertising? Woah, Nets and Raps both scored 1070 points in the series that was solved by one point. Brutal.

Pretty much how Kidd played the entire season....just enough to get by. Further testing an already playoff tested bunch. You'd think with all the experience, they'd can all those free throws, I think there was 2 players to hit both of his free throws the rookie Plumlee and Livingston. Deron and Pierce split the last 3 times he was on the stripe leaving that opening for the Raptors to walk through.
Even the play at the end was ragged, Pierce out with a bump, same with Johnson.
There was talk midseason the Nets were interested in trading for Lowry, now I see why, that kid has a lot of heart and moxey....great leader for that young bunch up there.....though his flop of a KG technical was pretty blatant. Demar's slight nudge to try and get Deron to blink...didn't work. The Raptors seems like bunch trying too hard to get a rise out of the Nets than wanting to win the game. Even Vasquez trying to draw fouls on JJ with flops backfired, too focused on the refs and not his game. .....25G's well spent by Mr. Kidd.

Despite all their flaws, the Raptors could be the team advancing, if Lowry had just passed the ball when he was TRIPLE, arguably QUADRUPLE, teamed. Instead he tried to play hero ball and got stuffed. There was contact on the play, but you probably don't get that call in the last seconds of a Game 7. He should have known better.
