I said it in the offseason and I'll say it again...David Lee. Boston is making him available and he'd be a nice band aid for now in the frontcourt with an expiring deal. Ship Kieff and PJ for DLee and it'll open up minutes for TJ and even Booker in a small lineup. Maybe we take back James Young, a 6-6 SG from....KENTUCKY! BOOM!

It would be hilarious if we took back James Young. That would make Ronnie Price the only G out of 6 G's that didn't play at Kentucky.

Indy wrote:And Sarver isn't cheap. We complained quite a bit about how much we paid Bledsoe and many others. He is penny-wise, pound-foolish, but some of that blame has to go to the people around him that advise him. I will knock him for not getting strong basketball opinions around him to advise him (or not listening to what he has).
The cheap comments were for when he sold all those draft picks early on in his ownership tenure. I don't think I can ever forgive those. He started spending after Amare went, and that was another solid punch to the gut for me as a fan. Either you keep the guy, or you keep the money and look for options. Those panic signings were so disheartening.

Yeah guys came for wink wink deals, but several of those players were hotly pursued free agents with better options, but they trusted that we would take care of them. The short term small money deals represented real risks but we had the reputation among league insiders for being trustworthy. It takes many years to build that reputation, and the blink of an eye to ruin it.

I think you keep Len, Warren, and Booker and the rest can be dealt.

My wish list:

Orlando - Victor Oladipo and Aaron Gordon
OKC - Cameron Payne
Minnesota - Shabazz Muhammad
Boston - Kelly Olynyk

Hey, a rare INF sighting! Stick around and suffer with us. I agree with the three to keep.

If you want Kelly Olynyk I bet we could get him for Markieff Morris.

Welcome back Inf. Care to elaborate on why you want those specific players?

I am high on Gordon and I understand Muhammad. I asked Ring the same question about Olynyk. Don't know anything about Payne. I have Oladipo on a couple of fantasy teams and he's frustrating the hell out of me right now, though some of that is on Skiles. He is an athletic and long player who isn't quite a pg, lacks a consistent outside shot, plays hard on defense, but also has trouble finishing around the rim a la Bledsoe/Knight. He is presumably younger so still has time to grow, but what do you see in him?

In terms of on court impact, I guess they are somewhat similar, but honestly I can't see Boston doing that deal. They have a lot of average and above average but not quite all star level players throughout their roster. None of their big men can really get consistent minutes except for Sullinger, who has his own attitude issues. While a straight up trade might be fair in terms of pure statistics, it would seem like a move for the sake of making a move and doesn't really help Boston, so I can't see them making it...

INFy has a good knack for not shooting for the stars, not pining after a Lebron or a Curry or some guy we have no chance at getting. He sets his eye on mid-tier talent that is actually potentially feasible for us to get, but with some upside potential where they might end up becoming valuable players for us.

If there's one thing that's stayed the same since my last extended visit here (about this time last year, I believe), it's INF's second-to-none loyalty to his boys.

Personally, I'm hoping for the Houston deal (Jones, Brewer) with a way to throw PJ Tucker in there. Love the guy and what he's done for the team, but he's just about at the end of the line. And, if it's possible, a side deal involving getting Tyler Ennis back.

Heh. This has crossed my mind too, but in order to make it useful at least one of the guards needs to go.

No problem - waive Price, let him go double-dip and get Ennis back. Season's pretty much bust anyways - might as well make room for and develop the kids.

Yeah, technically that could work, but by guards I meant one of Bledsoe-Knight. The way Price is used (hound other PGs, occasional outside shot) is probably the worst role you could give Ennis (let alone the three PG setup). You need real room to give him floor general functions while the other guy plays SG. Otherwise he is useless.

Team defense isn't worth a tinker's damn this season anyways, so why not change roles and give us someone who can actually run an offense at 1 for a change? Plug Brewer into Hill's old D slot and have him hound & press. The team's got the spacers - only thing is the game plan on actually how to space. Assuming there actually *is* a game plan. LOL!

Bring Ennis & Knight off the bench behind Bledsoe & Booker, Brewer off the bench behind TJ and keep Weems (who was actually doing a decent job as a Swiss army knife gap-filler before everyone lost their damn minds) as wing insurance.

The jury is still out on who to keep/keep in the rotation out of Leuer & Teletovic - Leuer's got good court IQ and can score from nearly anywhere while Teletovic is as close to a money shooter as we've got.

I'm so fucking tired of having to Rubik's Cube this team *every fucking season*.....

They're personal favorites of mine; I'm bffs with some of them and the others I just like how their names sound (O-la-dipo? Shabazz? Who wouldn't want players with those names?!).

There's clearly no basketball merit behind me wanting to acquire them.

INF: Do you worry at all about the general lack of shooting from most of those guys? Are you picturing the Bucks template of getting long athletes who play great defense?

Who would you put with Dipo in the backcourt? Either one of our guards? Or just starting from scratch?
