he has his supporters too--curry, klay, draymond green.ShelC wrote:That's going to be a big hurdle for him for sure. But just google Mark Jackson and Bogut. Or Mark Jackson and Joe Lacob; Mark Jackson and Scalabrine or Mark Jackson and Jason Collins.

if we are going to use your standard, then a lot of current nba players would be out of work by now.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:So is Screamin A Smith, Skip Bayless, and Olbermann on multiple occasions. Good for them. If Jackson were so great, teams would be lining up to hire him. Honestly, he's a douche.

Re: Who Do You Want as the Next Head Coach?
Why do you say that? I'm not even convinced about Thibs because I think he's too far to the opposite extreme - meaning all basketball, no player relationship, working to the bone and burning everyone out. But it'd get immediate results. I'm kind of partial to Lionel Hollins, who I think could be out in BK at the end of the year. He's a hardass too who will teach these guys disciplined basketball and hold them accountable but is also a guy players get behind.
Re: Who Do You Want as the Next Head Coach?
Here's the thing with Thibs, coaches can't really afford to be THAT picky, it's not like theres a huge number of NBA jobs. The longer you're out, it's generally harder to get back in. I don't want Thibs because his style is ugly and he'll run the players into the ground. I'd take pretty much any assistant with Spurs connections if I could.

What about McD's guy Longobardi? He learned under Thibs in Boston iirc. The players know him, I don't know if he's a puss like Hornacek, but he probably can't be any worse.

If you are firing Hornacek it has to come with an even bigger splash roster wise, and I am not talking about Morris. Otherwise the inmates know they run things on here again.
I am all for it, for sure. Whatever gets rid of this erectile dysfunction basketball.
McD is keen on the Boston model, so why not some college young coach? People who follow closely the NCAA, si there anyone out there who looks like a solid investment?

If you dump Hornacek you need to dump this two "point guard" basketball, which is actually in need of a real point guard.

I don't think we have that kind of roster. I just think they need discipline. The one thing I am kind of waiting on, and it might be tied to the coaching situation, is how long Tyson hangs in there. If we're in this same position next year with this roster and Hornacek, Tyson will start chirping, missing games and dogging it. He's a great leader and a warrior on the floor when he's playing for something but when the team is mediocre and isn't going anywhere, he can become a headache. If you are firing Hornacek it has to come with an even bigger splash roster wise, and I am not talking about Morris. That might be McD's model, which I'm not necessarily opposed to with the right personnel. I think we have a legit starting SG in Booker and could have a more traditional lineup. The question then is, which 80 mil PG do you move and who wants them/who do we have to take back.If you dump Hornacek you need to dump this two "point guard" basketball, which is actually in need of a real point guard.
It's interesting because I do think our guards need to be coached up, but I think you can get that with the right NBA coach, who in turn won't be a "rookie" themselves needing to learn the NBA game, players, refs, schedule etc. All the college coaches who come to the NBA have at least two veteran assistants/former head coaches on their staffs to guide them.McD is keen on the Boston model, so why not some college young coach? People who follow closely the NCAA, si there anyone out there who looks like a solid investment?

Mark Jackson is horrendous. If the Suns ever hired him in any capacity, I would be out. Seriously.

I voted for Kevin Ollie in the poll, but watching the Cavs/Warriors game yesterday, I was reminded how much I like Van Gundy as a commentator, and then I thought that he might be a good fit to coach the team.
I feel like he's definitely attainable (probably more so than Ollie), and the type of coach that would be able to get the ship righted.

Here's yet another example of how much of an effing idiot Mark Jackson is:
