On top of that, it should have been a foul on the Clippers. In real-time, the refs often award the ball to the team that was fouled but not called even if it went out on them.INFORMER wrote:It's funny that there's all this fuss about the ball being out on Jackson, when NBA rules state the following:
According to NBA official rule No. 8, Section 11, "If a player has his hand in contact with the ball and an opponent hits the hand causing the ball to go out-of-bounds, the team whose player had his hand on the ball retains possession."

And when that is the case, the refs correctly let the real-time call stand.Ring_Wanted wrote:But what happened with the ball thereafter is not easy to call even watching the play from two different angles. On his final drive, CP3 was hit on the elbow wich cause him to lose posesion. I know is rarely called a foul on those "last drive" plays but still was a foul.
Still, the Clippers put themselves on such precarious situation long before the Jackson's drive with Barnes. You just can not let away such kind of advantages.

I think it's really poor sportsmanship for Rivers to sit there in the press conference and call the out of bounds call a "series defining call."
Your team had a 7 point lead in the final minute of the game. You're kidding yourself if you think an out of bounds call isn't what's going to decide the series.

Re: Second Round: OKC Thunder (2) vs LA Clippers (3)
That hasn't been the case of the majority of ones I've seen. Most of them have been the defensive player hitting the shooting hand or arm of the shooter or not allowing the shooter to land.Mori Chu wrote: BTW, I am sick of all these fouls on 3-point shots. The players are kicking their legs out and falling down after EVERY long jumper. The refs need to get wise to this and stop calling those fouls!
Re: Second Round: OKC Thunder (2) vs LA Clippers (3)
Agreed. I found the refereeing at the end of the game to be pretty shoddy overall. A lot of questionable calls/no calls went against the Clippers, but they also made their own problems.
I thought it was funny that OKC is on a 7 game win streak when Tony Brothers is a ref.

I saw a screen cap of Chris Paul's hand on Westbrook's wrist. So he did foul him; I don't think the Clips got screwed on that call. The one where CP3 got the ball knocked away on the last possession should have been called.
I think the real problem here is that teams need to be able to do a "challenge" to fix blown calls. Do it like some other sports do: Give teams 1 challenge per game. If you use it and they go to replay and disagree with you, you lose a timeout and you can't challenge again that game. If the refs agree with you, they fix the call and you keep your timeout and keep your challenge flag. Just do it.

Yeah, I didn't think Paul fouled Westbrook at first but then after repeated viewings it looked like he did. Either way, he shouldn't have been so close. Most likely the Clippers win the game if he hadn't fouled him.

There's no way Westbrook would have made the shot. Just stand still, hands up, let him take the shot and brick it. Guaranteed win. Chris Paul should have known better.

I love watching Griffin pass the ball.

I despise at least half the Clippers' roster, I couldn't root for them to beat cancer.

If CP3 didn't flop, I'd like him.
But that's like saying, if Westbrook made good decisions with the ball, I wouldn't hate him.

Ouch, Ibaka out for the remainder of the playoffs with a calf injury. Bad, bad timing. It's looking like a Spurs/Heat rematch.

Geeez, lucky Spurs. How many times have they faced a shorthanded team because of injuries? Probably not that many, but from the outside it feels like a lot. Good luck, Collison, Adams and Perk.
On the other hand Parker is also hurt but is just day to day.
