Re: College Basketball: 2015-2016
Valentine is going to have a hard time staying in front of quick-ish guards at the next level.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”
Re: College Basketball: 2015-2016
Much like D'Angelo Russell, I expect his heady play will make up for it. While he's not especially impressive in terms of physical tools, he makes a lot of smart decisions as a team defender.Sunsfan4life wrote:Valentine is going to have a hard time staying in front of quick-ish guards at the next level.

NPOY?carey wrote:I like him. I think he may be the NPOY. Not sure he's still there at #12 since he is one of the few guys in this draft that can probably start right away. DX has him all the way at #19 with Hield at #9. I expect him to move up when the draft gets closer.OE32 wrote:I'm currently leaning toward Denzel Valentine at 12. I don't know how to get he, Booker and Warren all on the court at the same time, but I think he would work very well next to either of them.

I think hield wins npoy.
Re: College Basketball: 2015-2016
I wonder how much Valentine's stock will be helped by Draymond's emergence. Does he have a longer wing span? Can he play the 3 even though he's smallish for that position?
Re: College Basketball: 2015-2016
I would play him at the 3 as a point forward.

Re: College Basketball: 2015-2016
Inf, would you be for drafting him with one of our picks? I've grown quite interested in Valentine, but as I've stated before, I have no idea how to evaluate college talent.
Re: College Basketball: 2015-2016
AZ barely escapes Colorado after having a 17-point halftime lead. Gave up 58 (!) in the second half. Big Zeus is now the all-time winningest Wildcat.
Go Suns!

So far, the only guys I know are on INF's list are Valentine, Diallo, and Felder. Not that I've heard anything on Felder, but INF's a smart guy, and Felder's a smart pick. Probably Zubac as well.
Edit: Now I like Zizic, too. Maybe more. Europe owns the center position in this draft.

Tyler Ulis would be a great selection at 28 I think. I don't think he falls that far, though.
Re: College Basketball: 2015-2016
OK. I certainly hope the Suns draft Sabonis somehow. I love watching that guy play. He has an advanced skill set, is a tremendous rebounder, a fantastic defender both in the interior and on the perimeter. He is strong and mobile. But the thing I like about him most is his aggressiveness and passion for the game. That part of him reminds me of Dan Majerle.
He will not back down from anyone or be intimidated by anyone. Maybe that's from growing up playing against his dad in the driveway.

Would LOVE to get Sabonis. Going to be a star for sure, if you ask me.

Where did you get Diallo from? I've never said anything about him. He's not draftable, IMO.OE32 wrote:So far, the only guys I know are on INF's list are Valentine, Diallo, and Felder.
I don't remember saying anything about Felder either, although I certainly wouldn't mind him in the 2nd round. However, I was a little perplexed when a couple of posters were raving about him during a game he went 5-20 from the field.

I like both of the tiny guards in this draft - Felder and Ulis.

Do you think he'll be there at the Washington pick? If not, ... the higher pick would seem a bit high, no?INFORMER wrote:Absolutely.pickle wrote:Inf, would you be for drafting him with one of our picks?

Love Valentine and would play him at the 3 also, though I wish he were a big bigger. But he's that do-everything swing with a high BBall IQ and would be a perfect fit next to Booker IMO.
We just have to move both our PGs and get a high IQ passing/shooting PG.
