I think he quietly had a hall of fame career. So it makes sense even his bad games are quiet.Mori Chu wrote:BTW, Tim Duncan is quietly having an awful series. I think he had ~4 points last game, and tonight he has 0 points and 4 fouls and we're barely into the 2nd quarter (!).

Re: 2nd round playoffs thread
I don't know if we are watching the same game. OKC has more assists than SA. And although SA has 3 players taking all the shots and OKC has two, I don't think either team is chucking it. Sure Westbrook can't hit anything, but he needs to take shots.Mori Chu wrote:Spurs playing beautiful basketball, up 25-15 over the Thunder. So many possessions with all 5 players touching the ball, tons of passing, great defense, unselfish play. Love it. Meanwhile OKC is up to their usual chuckathon offense and Westbrook already has a tech. You can feel the series slipping away from them.
Re: 2nd round playoffs thread
The game has changed a lot since the first quarter. OKC has stormed back and looks much better. They are hitting a lot more 3s including by random guys like Kanter and Foye. The fast pace of this game favors OKC so the Spurs need to find a way to slow it down.

It's quiet because everything he does is quiet. Everyone has noticed though. My expectations are that he retires at the end of the season.Mori Chu wrote:BTW, Tim Duncan is quietly having an awful series. The Thunder evened it out tonight. This series is a good one.

Feels like a 7-gamer now, doesn't it? Such a huge swing from the way the game started. Kudos to OKC; they looked really good last night. If they get that many contributions every game, they'll be hard to beat. I think it'll be hard for them to repeat that kind of performance on the road, but we'll see.carey wrote:The Thunder evened it out tonight. This series is a good one.
Re: 2nd round playoffs thread
Right. I don't see Kanter being able to do that every game. Also, KD has to be brilliant to win, which may not be an issue because he's playing great.

What a series between spurs and thunder. You can really feel the tension between KD and Westbrook. I was surprised tho how Russel was willing to play unselfish Basketball in game 4 and look at the result. Still i swear i could feel he was pissed that he had to leave the stage to KD. KD was incredible against Kawhi in the fourth in both ends. Can't wait to see what Pop comes up with in game 5. Im kind of rooting for OKC because of KD.

Re: 2nd round playoffs thread
Pretty cool - per @bball_ref only Webber and Olajuwon (2x) have ever put up Draymond's line (21-9-5-4-7) in a playoff game. No one will mention it, though.

Re: 2nd round playoffs thread
I didn't post anything last night during the game, but man, Steph Curry is so freaking good. Despite being rusty he puts up 40 points, 9 and 8. Wow. But he had to play around 38 minutes to get there in an OT game. I'm nervous for his sprained knee. Hope he doesn't aggravate the injury. I'm really worried he will make it much much worse by playing on it and that we'll lose the next season of Steph.
