Well you don't trade it just to trade it, you have to get value. It's easy to go "oh I would of traded it" without having any concrete info of what exactly was being offered.
There is a rumor circulating that the Lakers are trying to aquire another top 5 pick and may be dangling D'Angelo Russel. His rookie campaign was uneven but I loved Russel coming out of College. Think he is better then any one we could nab at 4. He has that whole "Snitching" stigma and he has maturity issues, but I love the talent.

What is going on in Washington? Murray and Chriss have risen higher then any other prospects this year and they both were freshman on a Washington squad who wasn't that good.Superbone wrote:Yeah, I don't want to talk about how "We could have had Chriss!" down the line like I talk about "We could have had Igoudala!"Cap wrote:This doesn't seem to be a great year to have #4, but trading away picks always leads to regret for this franchise.

Re: NBA Draft Prospects Discussion
I've come to the conclusion that neither Bender nor Chriss are the correct play, at 4 or otherwise. The only correct play is Sabonis. I hope everything is a screen, and we're attempting to get a good deal moving down for Sabonis. If we can't move down with, say, Denver, then don't risk it; just take him at 4.
I think Chriss is fool's gold, plain and simple. Rebounding, motor, defense, basketball IQ all questionable. Someone said draft the basketball player, not the athlete - yeah. Precisely.
With Bender, one huge worry is injury concerns. I don't like the way he moves. I'm not sure he'll really have a position, because I'm not sure he'll ever be able to play inside. Simply, the awkwardness, and the consequent potential for frailty, scare me.
Denver is really the perfect trading partner - we could swap 4 and 28 for 7 and 19, or 4 for 7 and the Memphis pick owed to them, or 4 for 7, with Denver adding a player like Harris or Barton or Gallinari - the last of whom I assume would require our chipping in another player in return.
Sabonis. Final vote.

I love Sabonis and would be happy to take him at #4. *Sabonis. Final vote.
* Knows nothing
Re: NBA Draft Prospects Discussion
I wouldn't say so. If we took Sabonis at 4, I would be ok with it. I think we should be able to get him with a later pick, but with the level of players being fairly equal between 2 and 15, just take the one you like. He is a very good two way basketball player who WILL start in the NBA.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I love Sabonis and would be happy to take him at #4. *Sabonis. Final vote.

If you want a reason to be scared off of taking Chriss, watch the draftexpress weakness video compile on him. Some of his defensive rebounding "efforts" make Amare at his worst look like Rodman on the glass. The poor rebounding for a PF is a bit too much of a red flag for me, especially at #4.

I think you also have to point your finger at the coaching staff. How are they not pulling him from games and busting his ass about that kind of thing.Gladiator wrote:http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Mar ... iss-83240/

My hope would be in the NBA he wouldn't have anywhere to hide and its been the focus of so much of the pre-draft reports about him that he would have to make it a focus moving forward.
7ft Thon Maker had a lot of similar embarrassing moments in his weakness video, but then again he isn't being listed as a top 4 pick.
Re: NBA Draft Prospects Discussion
I'm definitely not saying he's undraftable or anything like that. Just that I'd be uncomfortable taking him that high (so am bracing for that to happen)Danimal wrote:I think you also have to point your finger at the coaching staff.
