That was Don Nelson's season there.

Didn't last very long.

The body types are similar, and maybe the 'tudes, but not the skills.

Right. Ewing didn't like having Mace run the offense.

He also thought having both Mace and Oakley on the court at the same time clogged the lane and inhibited his game.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

With all respect to the departed Mace, he was fairly rough around the edges.

Williams has had a bit more grounded upbringing.
Williams' dad was a Phoenix city councilman and is a current justice of the peace.
Williams' mom, Jeri, has just been named chief of police for Phoenix P.D.

Wow. That could make things a little uncomfortable for PJ in the locker room.

Whoa. Didn't know that. Very cool.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Williams reminds me of Kurt Thomas without the jumper. He can set a hard screen, fight for rebounds, get a steal or two, and be a great teammate. Doesn't get too many blocks or finish around the rim very well because he doesn't get far off the floor.

Not that I expect him to be as good as KT! I'll be thrilled if Williams cracks the second unit this season.

I'll take just 'being good for chemistry'. Any rebound, thug play, even bucket or whatever is gravy.
