Pretty sure Denver drafted him to play the 2.

Agreed with Mudiay there, but there was some debate on this board about if he could play point before the draft.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

Even if true, let it ride; the Suns ran Marion at the point during one summer league to help him improve his ball-handling. This is the time to do that kind of stuff.

Bender made a number of blocks including a game saver.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Bender was very good on defense in the second half, very active around the basket once he moved over to the 4 spot. Other than his shooting, I felt he played very well. Maybe the shooting is just nerves. You could sure see him sweating those free throws.

I hope in like 5 years, he's being interviewed about those misses and laughing about them.

Yeah, I think we need to put an end to his minutes at the 3 spot.

I don't know why anyone would pick on Bender at this point. I love the way he runs the court, kind of reminds me of a young Amare. I love the way he moves on both ends of the court and shares the ball. I also think he is going to turn into a very good shooter when all is said and done. At the very least he could be that additional distributor that this team really needs, he keeps the ball moving. It seems that strength could be a weakness that is why I wish we would sign Amare and have him get in the gym with both Bender and Chriss. Maybe sum of Amare's ferocity could wear off on both Chriss and Bender.

While not as talented our rookies remind me of when I was in LA and the Clippers drafted Danny Manning, Charles Smith (Pitt) and Gary Grant (MI) in the first round. If not for injury to Manning (microfracture) and back problems for Smith that could have been a real special team.

I just wish these young guys good health and someone on the coaching staff to develop their talents so they can be as good as they can be.

I also am hoping that a lot of what Ulis brings rubs off on both Bledsoe and Knight.

I am pumped.
What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.

I'm a little concerned Chriss went back to Sacramento. Something seems a little fishy. He gets sick, gets some meds, then goes home? While almost the whole team is in Vegas and still winning.
Go Suns!

The funny thing is, the Suns couldn't execute a play at the buzzer to save their lives, but the execution on that last play was perfect.

3 is our thinnest spot. I'm a little worried that when/if we trade PJ, we will end up with a lot of Bender and Booker at 3.

Hermangomez. Liked him during the draft. He's going to be a player.

Bender struggled on that ankle in the 2nd half. Thought his D was pretty good this game, but he has to learn how to do more on O. Despite that, Brad Daughtery ripping him every 2 seconds was annoying.

Bender wanted no parts of those free throws. He's only 18...but you could tell he was tight.

Speaking of the announcing crew...they...were......HORRIBLE. Brad Daugherty? Ugh.
The Hernangomez brothers are going to be useful players in the NBA. They resemble Felipe Reyes in the current state of his late years (which is actually a good thing since the man never stopped improving and adding to his game). Look at their frame.

Murray and Hield have a real handicap to their ceiling if they can't be played at PG credibly. That's why I asked a number of times about Hield's ability to defend PGs. Lack of versatility is a real problem nowadays.

It was really cool to see Booker standing on the sidelines and cheering on his teammates!

He's probably more Mike Conley, but yep, he looks good.

I'd love a Conley <3
