Re: NBA News: Offseason
This sucks, and not just for the 76rs. I really wanted to watch Simmons. The kid put up a show at summer league with his passing. Anyway, don't risk it.
Btw, speaking of the 76rs, when are they going to trade one of their centers? BC recently 'answered' to Noel about their logjam, saying the kids are not in a position to dictate things, but the issue is more than real. Still interested in Okafor.

Love, Hurts.
Re: NBA News: Offseason
I would hope that the Suns try to avoid signing players repped by Rich Paul.

He got paid. That's what he wanted.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Re: NBA News: Offseason
If Durant wins a title with GS this year would he go to Miami? He'd have Dragic, Winslow and Whiteside and in the East, would only be behind LBJ and the Cavs.
On the other hand, I think the Heat can still be somewhat competitive in the east this year if Whiteside is the real deal. He's the x-factor. I think Winslow will improve some more, and if Dragic has the ball in his hands, he can make plays or score the ball but he needs that big with him. And Spo is good enough to adjust and get the most out of that roster.

Re: NBA News: Offseason
He'll get lots of minutes and get the ball in his hands. And he has a big man (Whiteside) to throw it to down low, and an athletic rookie (Winslow) or two running next to him. They won't make the playoffs, but he'll be fine.
Re: NBA News: Offseason
He wants to be rookie of the year. He would have to wait for next year to do that. This is not about his health. Its about his brand. It stinks.carey wrote:Rich Paul ruining the 76ers season before it even starts: http://www.libertyballers.com/2016/10/3 ... bron-james

Re: NBA News: Offseason
It is about protecting his future and not turning into the multitude of top 5 picks that played on bad wheels and never amounted to much. It would be stupid for him to play AT ALL until the top specialists in the world (not the team physicians/specialists) tell him he is 100%.JCSunsfan wrote:He wants to be rookie of the year. Re: NBA News: Offseason
O.k., sure. Ruling it out before the season even starts? Before rehab even starts? It's clear his image is more important than his team and we'll see how well that sits w/ the other guys in the locker room.Indy wrote:It is about protecting his future and not turning into the multitude of top 5 picks that played on bad wheels and never amounted to much. Re: NBA News: Offseason
Well, first, "his team" would ship him off the second they could get a better offer for him. Sure, I doubt it would happen with his injury, but every single player in the league is a commodity, not a person. So yeah, he is more important than his team. He needs to do what is best for the next 15 years of his career. And if his agent spoke to top ortho docs that do this surgery all the time, and they said give him 9 months to recover fully, then it would be fine for him to tell Philly that. (maybe that didn't happen and he pulled it out of his ass and is just doing it for image, like you say, but that is just as much conjecture as I am using)carey wrote:O.k., sure. Re: NBA News: Offseason
I hate Rich Paul, but I don't think this particular situation is much of an issue. It's the agent's job to help protect the player against unnecessary risks. Playing before you are 100% healthy is dumb and risky, and many young players have trouble understanding that.
Re: NBA News: Offseason
I have no problem if it is really about his health. But this early in the process, that is really hard to believe. I absolutely believe the thinking right now is about rookie of the year competition and his brand. Players are commodities to their agents too.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I hate Rich Paul, but I don't think this particular situation is much of an issue. Re: NBA News: Offseason
The type of injury can be significant, especially with bigs, so there is some legitimacy in wanting to be cautious. The ROY thing...might be a stretch for me and I'd dismiss it outright if not for Rich Paul.
Re: NBA News: Offseason
the good news though is that he doesnt have to play alongside wade.carey wrote:Anyone up for some sweet, sweet Dragic schadenfreude? http://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/gora ... for-101016
