SDC, you can't just pull numbers when it comes to college stats. There's no context here. These lists are useless. Zane Najdawi of Citadel is not the 3rd best sophomore. He's probably not in the top 100 sophs.

Markkanen is a good prospect, though.

the lists arent useless. they pure numbers. mathematics. there's no human bias or discrimination. it is also true that Garbage In, Garbage out, that's why i filter the garbage.

the next step is to verify those numbers with the eye test. As Ronnie would say, Trust but Verify.

You posted a list called "the best freshman and sophomores in college" and the 4 top players on it wouldn't get drafted in either round if the draft were held today. It also doesn't include any of the actual best freshman or sophomores in college (other than Markannen, but only because he fit your arbitrary statistical parameters that only looks at shooting percentages and a 15 ppg cut-off).

It's much harder to go based off stats in college vs. the NBA. There are hundreds of colleges playing in 30ish conferences not counting the independent teams and the divisions vary wildly in talent level. They just don't often translate to the NBA that well.

This guys is growing on me, but I'm a sucker for players with those kinds of passing gifts:

i should have completed the title: the best freshmen/soph players in college based on the college basketball reference "player finder" filter

(and there is also a 255(?) character limit in the signature area.)

i havent seen any of the players, but they are worth scouting if they can maintain their high production numbers.

The Ringer does an analysis of Markelle Fultz.

I guess Ball and Fultz seem OK, if you like good basketball.

UCLA verse UK had 3-4 lottery picks on the floor. UCLA goes into Rupp Arena and ends Kentucky's 42 game home winning streak. Ball statistically was just ok, but his fingerprints are all over the game. Not his best game, but still got his team a win.

Part of what makes Ball so fascinating to watch is how quick his arms are. When he passes, shoots, dunks, or grabs a rebound, his arms just shoot out from his body super fast.

I'm thinking a possible second rounder right now.

Side note: Anyone follow Tim Kempton Sr. on Twitter? I did for a while. He is a right wing nutjob.

Haha, I feel like anyone conservative is considered a right wing nut job to many people. I don't follow him, because I don't appreciate his opinion on basketball and think he is mostly wrong and find him annoying.

Markelle Fultz......That is all.

Any one of Smith, Ball or Fultz would be a welcome addition. I like Jackson, Tatum, and Bridges too.

I want that point guard to grow with Bender, Chriss, and Book and Warren.

A Pass first PG will speed up ALL of their progress, trust me.
