Just had a triple double. 15-11-12 against the Bulls.INFORMER wrote:Malcolm Brogdon.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Do you mean Brogdon Brogdonovich?Unrelated, but you know who I'd love to get? Milwaukee's Brogdon. I bet they'd listen to a package if we offer Bledsoe. Monroe's on the trading block.

Inf was in on him draft time iirc. Im fairly certain he dunked on LeBron and Kyrie in the same game on different occasions last week.Superbone wrote:Never heard of him before last night.Ring_Wanted wrote:Just had a triple double. 15-11-12 against the Bulls.INFORMER wrote:Malcolm Brogdon.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Do you mean Brogdon Brogdonovich?Unrelated, but you know who I'd love to get? Milwaukee has made some very good draft choices lately.

And bad contract decisions. Look at Plumlee, Henson and Teletovic. Delly was pretty questionable but defensible. Monroe has turned into a problem.O_Gardino wrote:Milwaukee has made some very good draft choices lately.
Re: Around the League: Week 10 12/26-1/1
I still can't believe they signed Monroe. It was so obvious that he is not built for the 2016-17 NBA, and especially not for their roster and the kind of team they have been trying to build. Horrible horrible FA signing.
Re: Around the League: Week 10 12/26-1/1
Can we talk about how ridiculous of a season Isaiah Thomas is having? I knew he was playing well, but I just looked up his stats and he's 5th in the league in scoring at nearly 28 ppg. He gets to the line 9 times a game and hits at 90%. He's also averaging 6 assists a game and just over 2 turnovers. Makes the trade deadline debacle of a few years back look much worse. Taking the Dragic for two picks part out, where we came off very well, we essentially traded the Lakers pick and IT for Brandon Knight and a draft pick we used to help get Chriss.

But why would we take the good part out? So there is nothing else to do but to flagellate ourselves?
Anyway, glad IT3 has found his place but it was not working out here and it is a signing that should have never happened. There is a hard lesson to learn, as not every time you add value to your roster you are actually helping it. Many, myself included, were blinded by the outstanding value of that contract, but look what it did to our chemistry and rotations. We had something good going on after 13-14 with Dragic and Bledsoe but forced Goran to play more SF than PG for half a season.

Re: Around the League: Week 10 12/26-1/1
You can take the good part out because they were separate deals. There was no need to make any other trade besides the dragic one. Which in hindsight was the only one we should have made. At the time, I was indifferent on the IT trade and wasn't too excited about the Knight trade but was willing to give it a chance. Both turned out to be terrible trades for us.
Re: Around the League: Week 10 12/26-1/1
If the topic of conversation is, "What do we think of McDonough?" then you must include all parts, because they're all part of his resume. But why would we take the good part out? So there is nothing else to do but to flagellate ourselves?
If the topic is, "What should we have done with that Dragic/Bledsoe team from a few years ago?" It's completely reasonable to say that we should have traded Dragic but not done the other deals. They were not contingent on each other or related in any way. He blew it.
Re: Around the League: Week 10 12/26-1/1
I'd take Zeller or Amir. There's no way Boston would move Crowder for Chandler. He's too good of a player on too great of a contract. If we can get him, for Chandler, do it yesterday already.ShelC wrote:I've thought about Tyson to the Rockets but I don't want to help the rockets (childish I know) and they really don't have many pieces. I don't know what they'd give up for Koufos, so I can't imagine they have the assets for Chandler. Supposedly they've been offering Corey Brewer to teams, which isn't getting them far. Dekker and Harrell interest me, but I think they really like both guys (esp Dekker) and we'd still have to take back Brewer.
I'd love to work something out with Boston. I've read they're looking for a rim proteector, which Tyson really isn't at this point. But I think he'd be a better defender on that Cs team than ours. I've also always thought of Horford as a 4, so if they go bigger with Tyson at the 5, they could be a great combo. I'd look at some of their role players like Zeller and Crowder (love Crowder) or Amir Johnson straight up.
Re: Around the League: Week 10 12/26-1/1
What is Ryan good at? If the GM is supposed to build a roster and a coaching staff, which includes draft, trades and signings, which of those things has he done above average on?
Re: Around the League: Week 10 12/26-1/1
The draft seems to be his strong suit, but if I'm being totally honest he hasn't done anything that surprising there. He's picked pretty much the obvious player (aside from Len at 5) in all his drafts. Warren, Booker, Bender were all projected where we selected them and it's not like he's unearthed any 2nd round gems either.Indy wrote:What is Ryan good at? Re: Around the League: Week 10 12/26-1/1
I think he has generally drafted well, though not perfectly. And I think he has made some good FA signings (e.g. Chandler, Dudley) and some good trades (the one where we shipped out Markieff; the one where we shipped out Dragic; etc).Indy wrote:What is Ryan good at? Re: Around the League: Week 10 12/26-1/1
And that was a big mistake. Is there a single center drafted after him that isn't clearly better? Maybe 1 or 2...carey wrote:The draft seems to be his strong suit, but if I'm being totally honest he hasn't done anything that surprising there. You consider Chandler a good FA signing? I know he is rebounding like an elite player, but really what does he give the team? If anything, he seems to have stunted Alex.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I think he has generally drafted well, though not perfectly. Re: Around the League: Week 10 12/26-1/1
I'm fine with the Chandler signing. We swung for Aldridge and missed but still needed a legit lockerroom vet and frontcourt defender. Regarding Len, I don't think we're sitting on some sort of transcendent talent there who's being held back. It's not like the Penny-JJ situation.
