Battle of the Western Conference cellar dwellers. Amazingly, one of these two teams will finish off Thursday night with a rare two game winning streak.

Mavs are 7-7 over the last 14. It looks like they've put it together and figured themselves out. I don't think they will make it to the playoffs, but they won't be last in the West at the end of the season.

I never actively root for losses before or while watching games. I do think losing is in the best interest of the team, but I can't bring myself to root for poor performances by the team and players. I guess that is hypocritical. I don't know.

I don't think so. A lot of us feel that way. When we're playing, I want them to play well and win the game but I know we'll be better off in the long run by losing. We've never been able to get that special 1st or 2nd, game-changing pick in the draft in our 49 year history. The closest we've come was selecting Amare 9th. Outside of the draft, the closest we've come to getting that transcendent player is trading for Barkley or maybe getting Nash at his peak.

I wonder if we'll see a continuation of the first half Knight, second half Ulis pattern.

Knight did OK in the first half, shooting 4-5.

Dirk just can't do much of anything defensively anymore.

The Mavs whole team can't do much defensively right now. Or offensively.
