Knight with a -32 in 16 minutes.

Booker with a +19 in a game we lost by 11. That means we were outscored by 30 in the 13 minutes Booker was on the bench? I missed the game, but my guess is Knight was on the court for those 13 minutes.

Hallelujah! Two losses in a row to the 8th seed. Please, Saver/McDo/Watson, see the writing on the wall?

Knight and Len killed us.
Jamal Murray can't be scoring inside on Len. That's weak af.
Oh, and Chriss truly is a liability out there. We are basically playing 4on5 on both sides, but his defensive awareness and foul proneness are something else. I'm very concerned about this prospect. The only real skill I've seen from him is the ability to get to the rim off a spin move from around the FT line (which we basically never use anyway).
Bledsoe and Booker dominated their guards, in part because the refs respected them. Watching Armani post up is nice. Cook to see Dudley and Barbosa out there too. Barbosa was way better than Knight and he should be our backup SG after the deadline.

Knight has to sit til he's gone. Hes out there killing any sort of trade value he has left. His offense consists of chucking a deep 3 or driving to the hoop, throwing up a wild shot and falling to the ground which createsa fast break for the opposing team. Exactly what team would find that valuable?

Yeah but every 4 or 5 games he goes out there and puts up a + in the +/-.djy2j wrote:Knight has to sit til he's gone. Hes out there killing any sort of trade value he has left. What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Really? Lens 8 minutes killed us? I swear the expectations on Len from a lot of fans is insane. If you held Chandler to the defensive standards you hold Len to you could fill up a game thread with all the complaining you would have to do. Chandler doesn't even try. Len tries and sometimes ends up looking goofy but at least he plays defense.Ring_Wanted wrote:Knight and Len killed us.

People really do want to go back to the days of getting destroyed on the boards. Do people pine for the days of Plumlee or Teletovic? So many people wouldn't even give Len the money those guys make. It is absurd.
Re: Game Day: Nuggets (20-25) @ Suns (15-31), Sat 1/28/17
I'm in favor of trading Len because I don't think he deserves to be the highest paid player on the team and that's what would need to happen in order to retain him. It would be in the $16M/yr range. Mozgov territory basically. It's my opinion if you are going to throw that kind of money around that you can always find a C of Len's capabilities to sign for that much money. We aren't competing right now. Why not let someone else pay it and maybe get another asset out of it. I don't know just a thought. It wouldn't be the end of the world if we gave it to him and moved Chandler for something.
Go Suns!

Chriss hasn't impressed me much in the past few weeks. I just keep telling myself that he's really really young and that he's getting bad mentorship because our coaching staff is full of boneheads. I need to be patient. But I agree with what you said. It's concerning that he hasn't shown more flashes.Oh, and Chriss truly is a liability out there. I think almost everyone would happily sign him at the 10M per year teletovic and plumlee are getting. It's the Mozgov and above range that gives people pause.EDC wrote:Really? Knight is to the Suns what Josh Smith was to the Pistons.djy2j wrote:Knight has to sit til he's gone. Hes out there killing any sort of trade value he has left. Suns may have to cut him outright like Detroit did with Smith.

Len's a restricted free agent isn't he? I assume he'll go sign the best contract he can somewhere and then we'll have to decide to match it or not. Realistically he's going to get someone to sign him for much more than $10m a year, even with the Suns putting the clamps on his playing time recently.Split T wrote:I think almost everyone would happily sign him at the 10M per year teletovic and plumlee are getting. Agreed, someone will throw 15M per year at him.
Re: Game Day: Nuggets (20-25) @ Suns (15-31), Sat 1/28/17
I can see the Blazers being the team to overpay for him since they have a pretty dumb GM.
Even though Mason Plumlee is probably better than Len.

You guys make it sound like it's easy to get a decent center. Do you know how many years this franchise has gone without a decent center at times?

There's a glut of "pretty good" centers in the NBA right now. Denver can't give away Nurkic.
Re: Game Day: Nuggets (20-25) @ Suns (15-31), Sat 1/28/17
I feel like the league's style of play is going away from traditional centers. I'm all for keeping Len at the right price. Mainly because it feels weird to give up on the 5th overall pick 4 years after he drafted. I feel he has the intelligence to learn the game more and get better. I'm just not sure it can happen in a Suns uniform. I hope it does.Superbone wrote:You guys make it sound like it's easy to get a decent center. The Suns kind of backed themselves into a corner with the Chandler signing. Len needs to start and play more but Chandler didn't sign here to come off the bench. This isn't new news though.
My fear is that McDo and Watson are in the mindset of "we like our team." Which is terrifying since we are the 2nd worst in the league and we're giving a big chunk of mins to vets. They shouldn't be anywhere near content with this team presently.

The NBA is going up-tempo, and space-eating, aircraft-carrier centers such as Nurkic are an anathema to the transition game...Shabazz wrote:There's a glut of "pretty good" centers in the NBA right now. Denver can't give away Nurkic.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

Can't wait until the NBA fully transitions to the college game where 6'7" centers are allowed because big men are useless.LazarusLong wrote:The NBA is going up-tempo, and space-eating, aircraft-carrier centers such as Nurkic are an anathema to the transition game...Shabazz wrote:There's a glut of "pretty good" centers in the NBA right now.
