On an unrelated note, if we had a GM that had any sort of clue, we'd move Bledsoe now. His value will never be higher. Move him now (should be a member of the Orlando Magic by the end of February).
Agree with this take 100%.

I agree with INF on this.

I know there is no guarantee on the draft picks, but I don't think there is a guarantee that Cousins works out here without wearing out his welcome quickly. Unlike UO, I really like this draft and especially some of the pgs. I think they can be difference makers and make the players around them better. I'd love to see Booker, Warren, Chriss, Bender and Len all have their improvement and maturity accelerated.

I sort of disagree. I am OK with moving Bledsoe. But it should be to get a player we really want, not just because his trade value is high right now. It should NOT be for a collection of assets. We would have to get a star/superstar in return, and then we would have to package other stuff with Bledsoe to get that player.

So, yeah, in a package for AD or Jimmy Butler or something like that, fine.

I would strongly support acquiring Boogie Cousins.

I realize there are some maturity issues. But a lot of it is from several seasons ago. He's playing for a completely incompetent organization. It may be tempting to look at their record now and look at ours, and say "we are no better than the Kings!" But we're worlds apart.

They have had a revolving door of coaches and GMs, they have a current FO with almost no experience, they have an owner almost as bad/impulsive as early-days Saver was. They haven't had any common sense about putting other talent next to Boogie. They've drafted horribly. They have utterly failed to build a team around him. Of course he's frustrated.

I think a change of scenery would help Boogie a lot. And his talent is off the charts and undeniable. Probably the best big man in the NBA. You can build a team around a guy like that.

He's worth giving away a high draft pick this year and some other assets. We can replace TJ Warren. There will almost never be times when you can acquire perhaps the #1 NBA player at a given position in a trade. You have to go for it when times like that come along.

If you aren't willing to take chances like this, you will never win an NBA title.

This is the best strategy for rebuilding if you're unable to hit a home run in the draft, which usually requires getting a top three pick in the first place. Collect as many assets as possible and swap them for an elite player.

At this point, I'm not crazy about any of the draft prospects in this coming draft. There's some good ones and I'll be happy if the Suns get one, but I don't see anyone in the draft being on the same level as Cousins within the next five years.
This would be the year we'd get a top three but we'd have to give it up in the trade.

A lot of it has been this year. Did you see his reporter bullying tirade? I'm torn. Like Laz said, it reminds me of when we acquired Barkley. That worked out pretty well for us. It would definitely be a gamble.

AGREED. Both accounts.

This is when the contradiction within the organization talking and switching between "Assets" and "Family" gets exhibed. Bledsoe should be traded under the Assets view, but we should rejoy that he finally is blossoming under the Family speech.

Agreed 100%. Once Bledsoe suffers his next knee injury, he would become Derrick Rose 2.0. Especially considering he's due for an extension within the next 2 years.

But considering McDonough hype him, it's obvious that they think Bledsoe is the **** and that him and Booker are gonna be something special together. They should watch the tape of what happens to Bledsoe when he plays against some of the most physical teams and best PGs in the league in Conley.

For those of you long time fans over the age of 40, do you think having Jerry Colangelo at the helm at the beginning of the Barkley era had a large effect on that situation working out? I was a kid still when I started liking the Suns and the year Barkley was traded there was the first year of my fandom. I didn't know who Colangelo was at the time.

So I guess where I'm going with this is if Colangelo's prestige helped keep Barkley in line how in the world will Sarver have any sort of positive effect on Biggie? Sarver really isn't the kind of guy that grows on you other than like a fungus.

I am more than willing to give up Warren, Len, Chriss and one Miami pick for Boogie, plus Knight obviously. I can go as high as both Miami picks if it means I keep my '17 1stR and Bender.

Anyway, it is nice to have the assets to realistically entertain these kind of scenarios, although if Boston wants to spend the BRY '17 pick nothing can beat it unless Cousins doesn't want to play with IT4 instead of Bledsoe.

It would be a larger gamble because that team was already built to win. Cousins would be coming to a dysfunctional team ran by dysfunctional management and a dysfunctional owner. I'd rather we preserve our assets and draft ourselves a stud PG to combine with our young talent we already have. Don't be short sighted Robert and Ryan.

If the trade is really just Warren, Len, and our first, then I think you do it. That's really not that much. The draft pick is the best part by far and with cousins here, it's probably later half of the lottery. Like others have said, cousins is a risk, but he's also the best center in the NBA.

Absolutely. There is nobody on this team to keep him in check. When he is the top dog, he will bully his way around, and ruin the rest. It would be one thing if we had a strong coach, or a strong GM, or a strong owner. We have none of those. It wouldn't end up where we hope. Does anything in our current org tell you we are much better than the Kings when it comes to leadership in the FO?

I think our GM is much better than theirs, as is our training staff. That may sound like I'm grasping at straws, but it means we're more likely to successfully put a good team around Cousins in the future, and it means we can keep him and our other stars on the court better.

We also already have a better team around him than the kings, including guys who can keep him in check. At least more than what the kings have. The kings have what? Rudy gay, Darren collision, ty Lawson, Matt Barnes? Those are there vets. We've at least got Tyson chandler and Eric Bledsoe. Chandler is a solid vet influence and Bledsoe is a good friend.

Are any more news about this, besides the Gambo comment? I know, the guy is legitimately connected, but I wonder how much legs this rumor has.
