80 over 4 would be far too rich. Sigh. Maybe we send him to the Pelicans... Or Dallas? Both of those teams could use a center.

I'll pack his bags for him at $20M/yr...Split T wrote:Problem is Len has control of his contract. He'll sign a 4 year 80 million dollar deal and we'll have to decide whether to match or not.

He's not getting minutes. He's gone after this season. He's tapered off. Maybe his tall college basketball playing girlfriend broke up with him and it's affecting him?Superbone wrote:Please explain.INFORMER wrote:We need to.Shabazz wrote:I have a feeling we trade Len before the deadline.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I'd assume he doesnt wanna pay unreached potential. Plus if you can get an asset for avoiding that, you do it.Superbone wrote:Please explain.INFORMER wrote:We need to.Shabazz wrote:I have a feeling we trade Len before the deadline.

I've always wondered if that's been a way to keep his price down so we're more likely to matchAmareIsGod wrote:He's not getting minutes. He's gone after this season. He's tapered off. Thanks Supe. I just don't think it makes sense to sign him long term, so might as well cash him in for what you can get.Superbone wrote:Please explain.INFORMER wrote:We need to.Shabazz wrote:I have a feeling we trade Len before the deadline.

I still think the Tyson Chandler signing did significant harm to his development.

Known Suns hater Amin Elhassan says what I've been saying forever. You won't get much for PJ Tucker because he's an older guy with an expiring contract that is an UFA. Also he's just not that good.

Listening to Earl Waton on Newsmakers week. I'm starting to hate listening to his interviews. It's all nonsense. http://arizonasports.com/category/podca ... g+%26+Wolf
At one point he says he's never taken the court feeling like he'd lose. Odd since he's only been on losing teams as a professional.

Fair point. It's still annoying me lately. I'd probably be totally fine with it if the team were winning.Cap wrote:

So you don't think Len has it in him to be our future center and that we should start over with our center search? I agree with you that the Chandler signing has turned out to be detrimental to his development. They just don't play him enough. He does seem to play better as a starter. I would have liked to see what we had by letting him start and grow with the team. He has shown flashes but had not put it together for any significant stretches. I don't think he'll be an all-star but I'm afraid he might become a decent center in time like Robin Lopez. I hate just starting over all the time. It's a real bummer that missed out on Gobert but so did a lot of teams.INFORMER wrote:Thanks Supe. If 38 year old Kyle Korver can net a 1st rd pick then I think Tucker can too.carey wrote:http://arizonasports.com/category/podca ... +%26+Gambo

Sure it may be a late 1st but yeah that's probably the best they can do.
Re: Suns News: Week 16 2/6-2/12
I think the Chandler signing did harm to Len too. Chandler has been good. Len was pretty good too and poised to take the mantle as starter and then bam! Chandler is our new starting center. That had to piss off Len some and cut into his minutes. Having two quality centers has made our reboundng a strength this year. Robin Lopez and Gortat are both quality centers we cast aside that I could live with. Len is so close. He just has fumble fingers sometimes and rushes stuff. As Superbone said, I wonder what he would look like today if we didn't aquire Chandler and Len started. Chandler is at the end of his career and won't around for any Chanpionship run. The Suns invested a lot into Len and signing Chandler is kind of an insult imo. I am hoping that this was just a clever way to keep Len's resigning numbers tolerable and it doesn't backfire. Chandler leaves or retires, Len bails and signs with the Lakers and they win 4 more rings. We draft a young promising Center and start the whole process over.... again.Superbone wrote:So you don't think Len has it in him to be our future center and that we should start over with our center search? In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.

I really want to keep Len. But I will probably balk when I hear what his price is going to be. If we can get him cheap-ish, I would love to keep him. I think we may actually be decreasing his playing time to cheapen his next contract.
Re: Suns News: Week 16 2/6-2/12
Which if proven to be real would do more damage than just letting him earn that next contract, IMO. You might be right and I would agree, but it's not the right thing to do.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I really want to keep Len. But I will probably balk when I hear what his price is going to be.
