If Alford did take the Indiana job, one of the names mentioned UCLA would look at has been Earl watson. I actually heard it from a few people. Good.....take him!

Disagree. He's got that IT factor. More than Jackson to me, Duke kind of masks players talents for the benefit of the team. I think he'll have a very Booker like transition in the NBA.ShelC wrote:Yea, he's a basketball player. I don't think he's a superstar franchise guy, but he's a winning basketball player.

Kent St. He took a hard fall in the first half, impressed he played through.
His dad will probably compare it to Jordan's flu game...

Please let's not always take the position that if we simply get rid of what we don't like, that something better will take his place. I am not a Watson supporter, but I'm also not so down on him that I think anything will be better.Sunsfan4life wrote:This is suns and NCAA related. Indiana fired tom creen (their coach) yesterday. Surely you mean Willis Reed playing on one leg. The New York dude... it was Reed, right?Sunsfan4life wrote:Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Ball is playing right now in UCLA vs Ball St. Ball has 10 points at the half on 4-4 shooting along with 2 assists. I could see Watson doing well as a college coach. He is a salesman and would be a great recruiter. I have no doubt that if he were offered the UCLA job he would take it. He is all about UCLA and John Wooden.Sunsfan4life wrote:This is suns and NCAA related. Indiana fired tom creen (their coach) yesterday. Funny, I was listening to Dan Majerle yesterday and he was talking about how much he hates recruiting. Dan sounds more like a coach now than he did 6 years ago. He wants to be in the NBA I am sure.

agree on all points. Watson is the kind of guy with whom parents would trust their sons.
As for Majerle, he's evolved (grown up) since he's been in the big chair and had to make decisions.
He's probably realized he can't just sit back, joke around and be Mr. Cool if he's going to be leader.

Earlier in the thred Tatum was talked about. Kid is the real deal. He might be the most complete player coming out, he just needs to be more consistent. If we land a top 4 pick I can't see us taking anyone other then Ball,Jackson,Tatum, or Fultz. But honestly this draft is loaded that even if we got 5 or 6 we're still going to end up with a very very good player. I love Markanean too. I would be fine with him, he just is such a talented offensive player. I don't live in Arizona....is it a lock he's coming out?

BTW, I would definitely try to Cash Bledsoe for another lottery pick. I don't know if someone bites (although I'm pretty sure a team like Minnesota would be interested), but I am like 99% for that. It's not even a knock on Eric, its just he's more valuble as a trade chip then a player for Phoenix. I doubt he matches his numbers this year, next year either so the time is now.

He's a lock to come out. I'd be worried with a rotation of Markkanen, Bender & Chriss. They are all good but none of them are actual Cs.Sunsfan4life wrote: I would be fine with him, he just is such a talented offensive player. I don't live in Arizona....is it a lock he's coming out?

Wisconsin toppled #1 Villanova. They are pesky assholes. At least they aren't in UofA's bracket.

You guys watching the end of this Gonzaga - Northwestern game? Pretty exciting down the stretch.
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
Gearing up for the Arizona - St Marys game to start. Should be a good one.
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
I really like Bender, probably more than Chriss. Just wish he played more and was healthy. That being said, I really love how Markkanen plays and the skills he brings to the table. Might even say he's already better than Bender right now.

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
He's physcially farther along than Bender, but he's also playing against kids his own age, and Bender was playing against grown men. That is a world of difference.In2ition wrote:I really like Bender, probably more than Chriss. Just wish he played more and was healthy. The officiating was less than kind. 36-13 FT disparity. That's pretty gnarly in college.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:You guys watching the end of this Gonzaga - Northwestern game? Pretty exciting down the stretch.

Just so you know I'm not a homer, I noted the huge FT disparity in the UofA--St.Mary's game. 23-8 with Markkanen earning 10 of UofA's. Good to see us in the Sweet 16. This was the game I was most worried about, but Xavier crushed Florida St. and could be difficult.

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
I'm not a fan of pointing out free-throw disparity. It usually points out one team being overly aggressive verses the other. When refs see the disparity they sometimes try to make up for it, unfairly. I saw where Northwestern was screwed on a clear goaltending call, and if it had gone the correct way, the momentum stays in their favor. Instead of getting the points, they got called for a tech, their momentum got dowsed and Gonzaga played the clock out for the win.carey wrote:The officiating was less than kind. 36-13 FT disparity.
