2017 NBA Draft Prospect Discussion
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
Could you imagine if the Suns were able to draft hometown kids the next 2 years after this draft? Say they get Fultz, then add Ayton at center next yr and Bsgley III in '19 as a sf. Could finally have our own Lebron like built team. **Dreamin' is free**

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
If we get Fultz to go with Booker and Chriss and a lesser extent Ulis/Bender, we wont have a shot at Ayton or Bagley. A guy like Fultz added to this roster if we keep Bledsoe will probably have us pushing the 8th seed.
Love, Hurts.
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
Any thoughts on picking up Sindarius Thornwell in the 2nd round (if he falls that far)? I know he is a bad fit for the team, but I currently live in Columbia, South Carolina, and have been really impressed with his maturity and the improvements hes made in his game.
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
I don't think Sarver expects them to make the playoffs next year, at least that's what I gleemed from his quote. Then the Suns do have Miami's pick coming, and stranger things have happened. I tend to agree with you though, which is why I'm hoping for a blockbuster trade that also gives the Suns Josh Jackson or some future superstar sf too.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:If we get Fultz to go with Booker and Chriss and a lesser extent Ulis/Bender, we wont have a shot at Ayton or Bagley. Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
i haven't posted in a long time but had to chime in
i haven't seen Booker all year
not because the Suns are a losing team that is now a game out of 2nd to last in the league
(i heard their record is deceptive)
i'd still watch most of the games if they were on broadcast tv
but i happily cut my cable tv cord years ago
i saw a clip of every Booker shot last night
and the amazing part was not only the points
but i noticed he only benefited from 1 or 2 assists (and only 4 treys!
a 20 year old who can create 70 points on his own - wtf?
this is turning into a dream draft pick at 13
now i'm wondering about the fit of this year's draft pick
i saw Ball's game last night. i now believe he'll be available for the Sun's at 3
he looks like a smart player, good passer, athletic, good height for a point, with a capable shot from anywhere
and cool & calm -- to a fault last night
in summation - with such solid all-around fundamentals he'd be a good pick for any team, but, imo, is a borderline early lottery pick because...
the kid's lack of passion in a big game may indicate that his bball emotions are not as developed as his bball iq
and it may be connected to the influence of his imbicilic father in some way
(it seems unlikely, but is it possible his father pledged him to the Lakers and he didn't want him to shine too bright for another team?)
anyway, it would be interesting to switch bledsoe and knight for a backcourt of booker and ball (a BB backcourt) with a real nice forward or center from the trades but i'm not sold on Ball, even at the 3rd pick

1tin, you have to post more often. I also don't have cable or sat, but I get to watch online through my firestick. Thank goodness.
I know the best thing the Suns can do is get a high bballiq tall pass first pg with versatility. Also other versatile athletes and high bballiq players.

FYI, if you don't have cable TV, a site that tends to have streams of Suns games is live2all.com. Note, don't go to that site without AdBlock installed on your browser, otherwise it's a popup ad-ridden mess.

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
last nights game diminished Ball and elevated Fox
but despite his huge game, i couldn't take him seriously because of his non-NBA body
he looks shorter than 6'4
there have been plenty of successful short NBA players
i don't recall short AND skinny working out
(Pistol Pete is the only one that comes to mind, and he was 6'5)

He doesn't remind you of Wall a little as a pg?1tinsoldier wrote:last nights game diminished Ball and elevated Fox

He'll fill into his body. I'm still not sold on Monk. A 6-3 streak shooter? Pass.
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
I would be a little worried that Monk might be a little short as a sg in the nba, but his form is pure and he's super super athletic.ShelC wrote:He'll fill into his body. I'm still not sold on Monk. A 6-3 streak shooter? Pass.

But even so, he better be super super special. Where does he top out at?
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
I'm not sold on Monk either, which is why I want the Lakers t take him.
I think Fox will be a good starter in the NBA, but I don't want him for PHX. I saw him take a lot of midrange pullup jumpers off the dribble last night. I've kind of had my fill of that shot from a PG. I'd like a passer, please.

That's your preference and that's fine, but you have to have a mid range pull up in your arsenal as a pg.

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
Ball will still go in the top 2. Fox demolished him last night, but I still think he goes 1 or 2. If the Lakers pick 2 it's a slam dunk.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
The Lakers can deal with Ball's shooting hitch and with LaVar please.
But that's less preferable than the Lakers losing that pick all together.

I would be very sad if the Lakers take Ball. For one thing, I don't think he's a good fit with their guys, and I don't think he will flourish with that team. For another, I think the daddy drama will inflate in LA. If Ball goes to a small market team, that story line will die out quickly.pickle wrote:The Lakers can deal with Ball's shooting hitch and with LaVar please.

Lonzo would be great for LA, which is why I don't want to see them get him. I'd prefer they lose the pick.
