Re: Around the league: June 2014
Not giving up Klay for Love is absurd. To some degree is like if the Suns refused to move Hornacek to get Barkley.
Re: Around the league: June 2014
Ring: Good comparison. People forget that Hornacek had scored 20+ ppg and had been an all-star that year (92).

Cleveland has made Tyronn Lue the highest paid assistant coach ever. Why? http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--c ... 11878.html
Also, that's the 2nd assistant coach from Rivers' Clippers staff that's been stolen this off season so far.

Hmm. I'm surprised that beats Alvin Gentry's doubled salary or maybe he doesn't count since he's the "associate head coach".carey wrote:Cleveland has made Tyronn Lue the highest paid assistant coach ever. Why? http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--c ... 11878.html

This is a move I kind of wanted us to make (for Plumlee).Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine 3m
ESPN has learned that Dallas Mavericks are on verge of reacquiring Tyson Chandler in trade with New York Knicks. Story going online now

Proposed deal would send two Mavs starters to Knicks -- Sam Dalembert and Jose Calderón -- as well as prized young guard Shane Larkin
Re: Around the league: June 2014
I don't understand that deal at all. I'm not a Felton fan by any means so I totally get trading that dude, but the rest? Meh.

I'd hate to be a Mav's fan right now. This is the move they should have made (for Chandler) years ago after their title. Doing it now would feel like a slap in the face.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:Sources tell ESPN that Mavericks are in advanced talks on deal to complete trade that will bring Chandler and Raymond Felton to Dallas -Stein

Re: Around the league: June 2014
They had Chandler (and won a championship!) and let him go. They are trying to repair their mistake but it is most likely too late.

Chandler is only useful with our Warlock Training Staff doing their voodoo on him.

2010 Draft
• My Draft Diary
SCRAP Rating: 7.5 out of 10
1. Paul George (10)***
2. John Wall (1)**
3. DeMarcus Cousins (5)**
4. Eric Bledsoe (18)*
5. Gordon Hayward (9)*
6. Lance Stephenson (40)*
7. Greg Monroe (7)
8. Larry Sanders (15)
Lottery Whiffs: Wesley Johnson (4), Ekpe Udoh (6), Al-Farouq Aminu (8), Cole Aldrich (11)
Lottery Rotation Guys: Evan Turner (2), Derrick Favors (3), Xavier Henry (12), Ed Davis (13), Patrick Patterson (14)
Rotation Guys: Avery Bradley (19), Quincy Pondexter (26), Jordan Crawford (27), Greivis Vasquez (28)
Breakdown: Your typically devastating-in-retrospect draft. Wall was always going first, but the next eight teams missed on George … and actually, so did I.6 Turner and Favors were DBTWT guys (“drafted by the wrong team”); flip those picks and both have a better chance. The Clips picked Aminu over Hayward and a playing-one-hour-away George because they’re the Clippers and of course they did. Minnesota took 23-year-old Wes Johnson over DeMarcus Cous— oh wait, that was just as confusing in the moment. And so on and so on. Even Sam Presti screwed up in 2010 — he wasted the 11th pick on Aldrich and traded away Bledsoe’s rights. Agonizing draft. It’s only fitting that Lance Stephenson became one of the 2010 draft’s six best picks.

I had to look up (2) and (3) as I had forgotten who they were: Beasley/Mayo. Oof, Joe Alexander (8).SDC wrote:Bill Simmons redrafts 2008 Draft. i'd take dragic over ibaka.

Re: Around the league: June 2014
inf had a boner for joe alexander.
Re: Around the league: June 2014
Omer Asik to the Pelicans for a 1st round pick. The West is going to be even more brutal than usual next year. The only teams I can confidently say we'll be better than are the Lakers, Jazz and Wolves.
Re: Around the league: June 2014
Davis and Asik is gonna be rough to score against. If they can get healthy thats a 50 win squad.
Love, Hurts.
Re: Around the league: June 2014
I still don't believe in the Pelicans at all. Don't forget that their guards/swings can't shoot. They also don't have anybody who is an elite passer / playmaker. Never underestimate how crappy a team will be when they don't have shooters or passers. Those are kind of two important NBA skills.
