I kind of like Deonte Burton, Peter Jok, Semi Ojeleye, Jordan Bell, and Anzejs Pasecniks or could see them as sleepers.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:I dont know that they are considered sleepers, but guys who I think will end up better than players taken above them are Zach Collins, Terrance Ferguson, Justin Jackson, Bam Adebyo, Jawun Evan, Jonah Bolden, and Omer Yurtseven.In2ition wrote:Which begs the question. With this draft being widely regarded as very deep and talented, who are the sleeper players that are in this draft?Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Almost every draft has some guy like that who goes in the late 1st round or 2nd round and surprises everybody. I don't think it is fair to criticize all of the teams who missed out on the special player. Nobody saw Greek Freak coming, or Rudy Gobert, or Draymond Green, or plenty of other guys. I don't think the teams who drafted these guys are geniuses; in most cases it's a bit of savvy combined with a lot of luck. Overall I think we have drafted pretty well over the past 5-6 years. Why didn't we draft Capella? We passed on him twice in 2014.
You putting Ulis in the Freak/Gobert/Green category?O_Gardino wrote:We got that guy last summer.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Almost every draft has some guy like that who goes in the late 1st round or 2nd round and surprises everybody. Ulis might never be an allstar (although he has the skills and heart for it), but I think he's the best of the guys taken late in the draft. He could be one of the 5 best guys in the draft when it's all said and done.Cap wrote:You putting Ulis in the Freak/Gobert/Green category?O_Gardino wrote:We got that guy last summer.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Almost every draft has some guy like that who goes in the late 1st round or 2nd round and surprises everybody. I would add Dejounte Murray to that list as a late guy who could end up being a great pick. But of all of those, I think Skal and Ulis are the only ones who can become stars, and I don't think either will. But you never know. Draymond Green wouldn't have been predicted as a star 2 seasons in to his career. Heck, halfway through his third year, most people thought he was just a cute strategy move by Kerr.Split T wrote:We didn't see a strong rookie class this year. There were a few late 1st and 2nd round steals(Skal Labissiere, Malcolm Brogdon, Tyler Ulis, Ivica Zubac, Patrick McCaw, Paul Zipser) None of those guys stand out like Gobert, Draymond, Jokic etc.
