We better be getting more than the 12th pick. Bledsoe had more value than a late lotto. I don't really like any of the prospects around there. Maybe Giles, but only if he clears medically and he might not last that long if he has no red flags.Flagrant Fowl wrote:https://twitter.com/espnsteinline/status/869613673316143104 Eric Bledsoe, please.

I think I'm o.k. with Bledsoe for #12 but I would like to either dump Knight as well or pick up another asset such as Henry Ellenson (who I liked in the draft quite a bit last year but who also had a pretty disappointing rookie campaign.)

What prospects do you like at 12? I'd move him for 5-8, but nothing lower than that.

Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
If Fox is there at 4 and we're taking him, moving Bledsoe is the priority. Detroit wouldn't want him because of Reggie Jackson being there. Maybe there's something with Sacramento if they don't land a PG at 5 and go in a different direction at 10?
I don't think moving Knight will be easy, we'll just have to take pennies on the dollar for him or buy him out.

Isn't Reggie Jackson a far inferior player than Bledsoe? He is at least in my mind and would form a pretty damn good defensive backcourt with KCP. Although, #12 isn't a great position and I don't blame them for trying to move it. After 11 there is a noticeable drop off in talent, unless the Knicks pick Donovan Mitchell(which is a stretch IMO).ShelC wrote:If Fox is there at 4 and we're taking him, moving Bledsoe is the priority. Also, I wouldn't be opposed to keep Knight and build his value back up for another year. I just don't want to see them feel like they have to give up another asset just to move him.

Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
I'm not too concerned about shedding knight. I'd rather not take a hit just to get rid of him. Let him ride the bench until we find something reasonable. Bledsoe for 12 and Reggie Jackson might work. Although I have no interest in keeping Jackson. We'd need to find another team to take him.Indy wrote:Even if you could shed Knight too?Split T wrote:What prospects do you like at 12? Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
My guess is anunboy and Collins don't last to 12. Kennard will probably have a nice career as a role player, but I can't imagine him ever having as much value as Bledsoe.carey wrote:Collins, Anunoby, Kennard and Giles if medically cleared.Split T wrote:What prospects do you like at 12? Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
Donovan Mitchell might actually be a really good fit for us if we draft Jackson at 4 and move Bledsoe. Mitchell is a combo guard offensively, but could possibly guard 1-3 on defense. He's super long and super athletic. He could play with ulis or with Booker and having Jackson might help with his lack of playmaking.
Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
I'll be honest, I don't think Mitchell's bbiq or feel for the game is very good. He wouldn't be in my top 40 right now.Split T wrote:Donovan Mitchell might actually be a really good fit for us if we draft Jackson at 4 and move Bledsoe. Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
Definitely not "far inferior" and if healthy, I think Jackson is more explosive but health is the issue (for both players actually). But the Pistons would still have to move Jackson at some point otherwise they'd have Jackson and Bleds who are both a bit redundant. Then they'd still have to re-sign KCP. I just don't think it'd make sense for them. Not saying the Pistons don't want to move Jackson, but they'd be in the situation we find ourselves in now.In2ition wrote:Isn't Reggie Jackson a far inferior player than Bledsoe? Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
I think his defense alone will make him a rotation guy. I don't have a good read on him offensively, but I feel like he's at least Avery Bradley. Or at least Avery Bradley before he was a semi consistent threat from 3In2ition wrote:I'll be honest, I don't think Mitchell's bbiq or feel for the game is very good. Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
Pretty sure we aren't moving Bledsoe for #12. Don't think I'd even do that tbh, he's worth more than that.
And you guys with all these comps are nuts, he's Draymond, he's Iguodala, he's Bradley, all these guys are 1st team all defensive players, chances are we are totally not getting one of those. Another PJ? Suuure, I'll buy that.

Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
I get that, but c'mon, gotta be a little realistic no? Or maybe people severely underrate how good these defenders are? I don't know, the Draymond one gets me the most, when is the last time the NBA saw someone like him?carey wrote:That's the nature of draft time.

Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
Jackson is a lot closer to Iguodala than PJ Tucker. Jackson is a better prospect coming out of college than Iggy was. The comparisons are all about projectability. Likewise, Mitchell is a better prospect than Bradley was. I'm not saying he's going to come in and be 1St team all defense next year, but he's got that potential down the road.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:Pretty sure we aren't moving Bledsoe for #12. Side note, I'm actually surprised Bradley got a first team all defense, I think he's good, but overrated on defense.
As for draymond, I agree there is no one in this draft that projects to him. Some guys, anunoby and bell, have some characteristics, like size and defensive ability, but neither of those guys are complete.
Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
We may be overrating Bledsoe's trade value.
Earlier this season we ranked the league's top point guards, and the consensus was that Bledsoe was the 11th-best point guard. Now we have a bunch of star-potential PGs coming in at the top of this draft. That means half the teams in the league are going to have PGs they wouldn't trade for Bledsoe straight up, even before worrying about his knees.
We're talking about an average to slightly-above-average starter at his position, with red flag knees, and us potentially in a situation where we have to trade him. Basically it's the Keef situation with less drama (since it's knees, rather than character, raising red flags). I'd be surprised if we can get significantly more than we got out of that situation (late lotto pick).
