I don't agree at all, on either count.

http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2014/ ... -cap-space
Eric Bledsoe cannot be traded this week
Channing Frye cannot be traded this week
Neither can Emeka Okafor or P.J. Tucker or Leandro Barbosa
The Suns have just under $5 million in cap space this week
No dead weight contracts to parlay
The Suns can add bodies though

Phoenix Suns' prime interest starts with shooters
With Suns trade possibilities and Kevin Love dreams aside, the pecking order of draft interest starts with the draft's best two shooters. Michigan's Nik Stauskas and Creighton's Doug McDermott are most desired by the Suns, with another sweet-shooting swingman, Duke's Rodney Hood, next in line, ahead of Louisiana-Lafayette point guard Elfrid Payton, North Carolina State small forward T.J. Warren and other shooting guards — UCLA's Zach LaVine, Michigan State's Gary Harris and Kentucky's James Young.

"I like to play up and down," McDermott said at the draft combine. "(The Spurs are) who everybody on Creighton dreams of playing for because we think the same way. A lot of teams are starting to move in that direction. The Hawks, the Suns are starting to play like that. A lot of shooters, spacing the floor. A lot of teams like that would be a good fit."

Stauskas and McDermott did not have any public workouts with Phoenix, although Stauskas at one point named Phoenix as one of four teams that would work him out. Hood is the only first round prospect known to have worked out twice for Phoenix.

So do the Suns prefer Hood or Warren? Sounds like Hood is the choice if McDermott and Staukas aren't there but then you have Spears saying the Suns gave a promise to Warren. I guess we will find out the answer at 5:30.

Shooter at 14, Warren at 18?

I am only confuse because Hood and Warren play the same position. It seems redundant to get both.

The Suns took players at positions where they have personnel situations with small forward P.J. Tucker being a restricted free agent at small forward and Bledsoe being a restricted free agent at point guard, along with Smith's team option.

"It's all factored in," Suns General Manager Ryan McDonough said. "I guess with free agency, you're not sure what's going to happen. We're really high on the three free agents we have. We'd like to bring all of them back if we're able to do that. We didn't draft anybody to be replacements for those guys. We drafted these guys because we think they can help solidify our depth, because we want to keep bringing young talent into the pipeline and because we think they can be good players down the road. But our top priority would be to bring back the free agents we have and add these guys to the group."

That's GM speak. I like our picks, but Warren and Ennis are insurance for sure. And Green is also a FA next season.

Was thinking today that maybe McDornacek will still keep Bledsoe and use Ennis in Smiths place leaving the Suns with 3 capable PG who all offer varying skills giving us a different looks. We'd always have a PG who the Suns can confidently rely on to run the offense. Thats a very unique advantage. We could push the pace for 48 minutes.

Now that the draft is over, I wonder if the Suns bring in ASU's Bachynski and/or Carson for a summer league demo/tryout. Bachynski might be nice workout fodder for Len.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

I hope Ennis is better than Ish Smith.

As long as Ennis isn't petrified of shooting a wide open three. :)

Ish was a great energy guy for us but man I can't believe someone gets to that level without being able to shoot.

Totally helps when you're maybe the fastest guy in the league, but someone should have sat him down and said, "Son, if you learn to shoot you're going to make a shit load of money." Oh well.
Go Suns!

Yea I was thinking about Ish Smith too. His contract isn't guaranteed so Ennis will probably take his spot. I like Ish a lot, especially his speed with the ball, which Ennis doesn't have. But Ennis will be much more of a true PG so Bledsoe, Dragic and even Archie can play off him.
