Frankly, I'm more and more up on the idea of taking Isaac at #4. He's passing the eyeball test for some sportswriters I trust, and the forecasting algorithms have him at the top of the field in terms of upside.
He's got a non-trivial chance of being the best player coming out of the draft. Think Kevin Durant.
We were talking about Ball because of a report that said, "the Lakers wouldn't pick him if the draft was today or yesterday, and it's not even close..." I'm paraphrasing.
Also, I'm not so sure on the Isaac = KD comp. I wish that was a certainty, I'd be all over him. I'm not sure that he can create for himself like KD could in college and don't know if he has KDs athleticism off the dribble, or BballIQ either without the ball.

Hello there, long time lurker, finally thanks to Marty I'm able to post.
My take on the draft ( number 4 anyways) is that we should take Ball if he falls to us (through I highly doubt that will happen) and if the Lakers or Sixers take him then I'm leaning towards Isaac. I know he's got the biggest bust potential but Jackson just doesn't convince me, same as Tatuum. I don't think we will draft a PG, like many of you said we are "stuck" with Bled for the time being. We might probably move him at the deadline if our record is not what the mgmt wants it to be but for now he is our starting PG.
I like Isaacs potential, he might be a star. There's awans a risk but just maybe it's worth taking.
Anyways I'm glad to finally be here (was registered at the old site but didn't post frequently) and have the opportunity to talk to the most knowledgeble phx fans out there!

Hello All! It's nice to see the board back up and running....I hadn't checked it in a long time, what a nice surprise!
Re: Draft. I'm sensing Isaac making a big leap both here and in general. I didn't watch him play so hard to really comment. I feel like we're right in that time period so close to draft when it's so easy to start nitpicking little things - wingspans, verticals, court sprints for 3 minutes, shuttle drills, etc. Thinking back on watching college games this year Josh Jackson was clearly the best player I saw all year...until I watched Lonzo Ball (admittedly I barely saw Washington so didn't really see Fultz). I just feel like those two were in a different class than the rest of the players - the game just seemed to flow through them. The Jackson I remember seeing seemed to shoot just fine and I didn't notice any bad hitch or anything that couldn't be improved. Ball's shot is a little more worrying but it seems to work for him.
That said - I think both will be gone when we pick at 4. That was such a bummer but so predictable that we'd get screwed. Really hoping Philly moves on Fox or Monk and we get Jackson at 4. If not, I've got to believe we'll go Isaac or Tatum. But...part of me keeps thinking Markkanen might be the next best guy here. Are we really sure Bender will amount to anything? I could see Markkanen and Chriss on the floor together and they've both got weird, double consonants in their names which is kind of cool. I just keep thinking Bender has bust written all over him....another Zarko.
Would also love to see us get Caleb Swanigan with one of our later picks. Seems like the kind of chance worth taking at that point. Maybe there is some Draymond in him....
Hey, Uncle Abe! Figures you'd be partial to someone named Jackson.
Re: Bender, no, we're not sure. He could be a bust. But he could also be very good.

So monk was here today and apparently we are bringing fox in later this week. Both are intriguing but the fit isn't great for monk. I'm ok with fox, but only if Bledsoe is on the way out.
Supposedly, according to Monk, this was the first year he played off the ball. Perhaps in stretches he could play pg. I've never evaluated his pg skills.
Also, Gambo reported that the Suns are going to try to bring in all the top guys this week.

Thanks In2 and Indy, I will try my best! Yeah probably should have changed the name to something easier to pronounce (thought about ShawnMarionsJumpShot for a minute there but at least there's some continuity to it.
How Monk would fit with Devin? Would he play off the bench or is he a PG? From what I've read about him he seams like a combo guard that scores well. Have you guys watched him play?

Sometimes, Kentucky guys have skills they don't get a chance to showcase, as Booker proved. But with Monk, I think it's fair to assume Fox is a better PG than Monk.
Thanks for keeping sharing Gambo's reports. I don't follow the tweets, so I get all this news from ya'll here.

I'm a big fan of Monk. I think he could play with Booker for stretches. He's got to be at least as good a ball handler as Ronnie Price, right? I don't really love his fit next to Bledsoe, and Monk just can't play with Ulis. That would be the shortest backcourt in decades. As Split says, the fit is tough.

My updated opinion of picks would be Jackson then Isaac. If we pick another Kentucky guard I will throw up. If we pick Ball I will throw up. If we pick Markkanan I will throw up.
Don't tease me with Swanigan. I am a Purdue fan so extremely biased. Suns don't usually bring in Big Ten players to work out for whatever reason. I'd be over the moon if the Suns drafted him.

I checked Monk's high school numbers, he averaged 28 points 7 boards and 4.5 assists. Surprisingly, he out assisted fox in high school. High school numbers aren't very reliable though. Still, it's possible monk has some untapped playmaking skills. I know at the draft lottery he mentioned he wanted to show teams he had good pick n roll skills.

You better do something about that weak constitution.

Chad Ford says we're hoping ball drops to 4 as we think he's a great fit alongside booker and will pick between Jackson, fox, and Tatum if he's gone. Implied that we prefer them in that order(Jackson then Fox then Tatum). Had us drafting fox because Jackson was off the board. Mentioned that the kings really want fox and have even considered moving 5 and 10 to get him.

Is this from the 6.0 mock draft? Is there any way you can copy and paste the lottery portion of that article and private message it to me?
